Okay, so I'm going to a loli tea party and I need EGL clothes, and i'm poor, so I was wondering where I could get Cheap EGL stuff on short notice (I need it by wednesday night) Any Suggestions? Also, any suggestions for EGL Hair? (or cheap wigs i could buy at a store)

It's not really EGL. It's a cheap imitation, but UniQLo does have some EGL-esque clothing. If you live close to New York there are some UniQLo stores around there, or even in Menlo Park Mall since you live in NJ. The clothes there are usually on sale. Just remember it is not really EGL...but it will help since your on a tight budget (aren't we all) and need it quick. I hope this helps. ^_^

Also, would those "supermodel" wigs (short black bobs) count as EGL?

I guess...are you going to style it? Or wear a headdress or hat with it?

EDIT: I found something like short bob on Avant Gauche. See if this picture helps.

Check your local thrift shops. Egl skirts can be really easy and cheap if you use your resources right. You can get fabric to make these skirtsm from practically anything (but make sure its quality) take apart some old clothes, got any fabric laying around the house? All these can be used as materials for a skirt.
Heres some free patterns that are pretty easy to understand. (and believe me you can make a really cute lolita skirt in once sitting)

Heres a thread thats dedicated to entirely free patterns and tutorials.

Another skirt tutorial.
Also, you can find a lot of lolita-ish shirts around some of your local shops. I got some great ones at Kohls and I've heard that wal-mart has come out with a line of lolita-ish shirts.
Heres a tutorial of how to loli-fy a collared shirt:

For the hair, I think its really best to use your own and style it but if you insist on using the wig heres a girl in the gl beauty with the same style.

theres always this; http://www.hottopic.com/store/product.asp?LS=0&ITEM=218659&RN=127
But it is from Hot Topic, and as we all know, Hot Topic is an evil store. :P (I'm kidding, of course, cause I work there! YAY! :D..)

The Hot Topic dress would kind of require a blouse underneath it to avoid being too erololi, unless that's the look you're going for, in which case proceed. I mean, hey, $9.

I have some rather cheap Lolita clothing myself. I just wore some to school today and my friend who is a loli expert loved them! I have this nice circle skirt I got from WalMart, it's dark brown and goes down to 2 inched above the ankle. I made a blouse myself, poofy shoulders and bell sleeves trimed with lace. I made a little tie to go with it and :: poof :: a very sophisticated Lolita looks for very little money! If you go with a style that's more casual it's fairly easy to find clothing.

T.T My mother thinks she knows EVERYTHING about EGL, it's really bad. She keeps saying "This is EGL" When it's clearly not...

heehee I'd love to see some examples of what your mom calls egl.
The Hot Topic dress isn't very lolita at all. I beg of you pleaseeeee don't buy that and call it "elegant."

Ok, so we're at the mall in Charlotte Russe <A store and I'm telling my mother about proper EGL lipstick. I'm like "And EGL lipstick would be Black or a Nude color" And she's like "OH NO! EGL IS PINK OR RED!" And I swear to god I almost hit her in the store...She also thinks the only EGL hair is a short bob...and i'm like "Any hair can be EGL if you back it up with the correct outfit" and she's like "No, only bobs! DUH!" and then we were arguing about EGL colors and I said "EGL is Either Black, or white, sometimes burgundy and the occasional brown" and she says "NO! THIS IS EGL OR THAT IS EGL" and I swear to god I wanted to attack her.

i agree that a small tophat you can easily find at the teddybear section at hobby lobby goes well with bob hair. just glue some frilly lace around the edge and there you have it!
^have fun tongiht at the egl party!!!
