I have a bunch of questions about the many different pieces of this costume. Anyone who's made it and wants to share secrets, I'd be muchly in your debt. Just FYI I'm making this for my daughter, and I'd never even seen a screen cap till I did some searching at her direction.

First, I guess we'll start at the top: Is that an earring, or a hair wrap we see dangling down? Does the color/shape/size of the beads really matter? And what is that at the end? A tassel? A feather? A tuft of blue hair? Also, does anyone know of a source to buy an 'ear cuff', those little metal things that folks make 'Bajoran' earrings from?

Second: the long pony tail: is it a long 'tube' with ribbon criss-crossed on it? Or is it three 'strands' braided? How is it connected as to not get pulled out of the hair, or off the costume? I was thinking of attaching it to the 'halter' strap so it can do double duty and help hold the top up.

Third: That halter. Do I use flesh colored stretch fabric? Nude color netting? And how and what does that symbol fit into it all? I was thinking of using an iron-on type thing, but since I want to use a synthetic stretch fabric, I'm thinkin' 'melting' issues.

Fourth: The yellow 'belt'. Is it one strand or two? How is it fastened? Did anyone try using regular cording, or something with some stretch to it? Is it yellow or gold?

Fifth: The belt and pouch...has anyone found a source to buy them? If not, got a pattern for making it? I have some materials, just want details (yes, I am that anal!). I can see that they are going for a bit of a 'western' look with the fringe, silver and torquoise...just hard to find around here.

Sixth: The shorts. Black? Blue? Denim?

Seventh: Minor points but wanna know none-the-less...on the armbands, are they solid, or do they 'gap' showing some skin...does it matter if the laces are black or red?

Eighth: Does anyone know of a source (preferably online and cheap) where I can buy the gradient/ombre dyed fabric for the skirt?? I tried dying some myself and I'm not 100% happy with it.

That's all I can think of for now. Sorry for all the questions...but I've always been a big stickler for doing things as accurately as possible.

Thanks to anyone who can help out.

You probably want to try the sub-section of the video game forum, the final fantasy one. Also there's already a forum for the gunners:
