I was curious if anyone in Band at their school *high or middle* or out of school was going to AWA. I'm having ebil plans of bringing my clarinet so during the Final Fantasy photoshoot, I can play Final Fantasy songs that I can download. The problem is, most of these are clarinet choirs so they require more than one clarinist. I was hoping that maybe someone was going that played clarinet so they could play with me.

If you don't play clarinet, that's all right. I can still find music. Also, orchestra could be fine as well. I just need to see if I can find an arrangement.

If you have music you'd like me to play as well, I could do so. First chair in my band. =3 Anyhow, please please tell me if you're available.

I'm in band, but I don't play clarinet (Flute player). However, my best friend is a really good clarinet player and she should be going to AWA this year if everything goes right. Though I'm not sure if she's cosplaying from FF.

I play bass, but we're just a jam band.

However, I play trumpet. :D Just send me your scores, because I can read B flat too.

Here's a flute as well :3
Section leader for the win? Not sure if I'll be bringing my flute or not... Let me know if you need one ^____________^

A small group of us played a bunch of Final Fantasy stuff at our last band concert while everyone was being seated. :3 My favorite is definately The Place I'll Return to Someday from Final Fantasy 9. Time Scar is from Chrono Cross, but it just sounds amazing.

Well, if she's still willing to play regardless, it doesn't matter. I'll search to see if I can find any flute music to go along. Same with you Phantomthief-chan. ^^

xD Yeah, vice versa. Clarinet and Trumpet are in the same...well...readingness. -snort- Most/all of the music is on Doofus Music's website.

Yeah, I'm trying to convince my teacher to play Aerith's Theme for band. xD I'll look at the scores and see if I can find a suitable arrangement for these three instruments. I'll then attach it.

BTW, Final Fantasy X/Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children/*possibly*KHII music is okay right? I may throw in some Naruto if I can find...

-pokes- Any brass? -would love the sight of a tuba playing FF-

T______T There's a whole lot of flats. D:

Well, there are only four sharps in the first piece. Fairly easy if you mark it and practice.

And there's one in Zanarkand. o.o All you need to remember is that every B is flat. What grade are you in and what chair are you?

I'm a junior and I used to play trumpet. Was 3rd chair for the 1st chair section for Symphonic Band. Now I play Euphonium for Wind Ensemble. >.>

Edit: Do you have any midi files to these? I've never heard these songs in my life. T___T

Im a music teacher (middle school with many high school private students), I have my flute or Oboe (which it's super easy to play flute music on a oboe) that I can bring with me, I'm always game for playing instruments at a con. (I have my Violin as well but not sure if I want to bring it all the way from NC with me.)

london2191
01-31-2007, 04:23 PM
Ohhh. Mmkay. And yeah, Midi Files. If you look at the bottom of the scores, there's the URL to the website. Just type it in and you can find it from there.

Star_Angel: Ooo, oboe. =) I guess since we have so many flute players, oboe would be good. I've never heard a good oboe player in my life. xD

Lol that's because you have never met me! lol j/k. But yeah Oboe is just one of those instruments that teachers that don't play it seem to hate. then I will for sure bring the thing to another con!

well, I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to AWA next year, but it's possible.
I'm a trombone player. While it's no tuba, I could play the parts, though might have to bring them up an octave. *shrug*

xD I dunno if I can find any brass parts. Well, I could always find a full ensemble with Clarinet, Flute, Oboe, Trombone, and Trumpet. xD No saxophone I guess.

Mac
02-01-2007, 07:57 PM
sax isn't needed, really.
If you can get me a part, I could probably read it, granted it'd be easier if I didn't have to transpose. I can read treble clef, though I'm a little slower at it. Doubt you'd have any music with it, but I can read tenor and alto clef, too. range doesn't matter b/c I could play whatever in a comfortable range (just bring it down an octave or whatever).

**yep, so these are all the songs to the instruments people have talked about so far for Aerith's Theme from Final Fantasy VII. I also have Suteki Da Ne, Kingdom Hearts Overture, and a Final Fantasy VII: The best of FFVII. just make requests, really**

london2191

Hmmm, well, I dunno if the string arrangement could somehow fit along...I need to PM everyone here to see if they're still up to it.

I can play violin and cello if string players are allowed ><

london2191
03-25-2007, 12:53 AM
EEE! IT'S YUFFIE/LACUS-chan! =3 I'll try to figure out something with strings. I just need to figure out of the people that volunteered here will keep to their promises and play. Or are even active anymore. I may just arrange an instrumental meet-up at one time to see who meets up and we can practice and then the actual thing at a certain time. -shrugs- It'll just be to play.

Piichi to Roy

I play clarinet. First chair all through middle school, played in band until tenth grade, first chair, then third chair and first secondary clarinet. That was confusing. xD

Anyway, I've been playing FF music since I got my clarinet (mostly just FFIX, and a bit from FFX). I'm planning on going to AWA (about... 80% sure I'll be there with my Smash group), and I'd be happy to tag along so long as nothing will interfere with game tournaments. xD

I also play the recorder VERY WELL, but it's those cheap ten dollar recorders you can pick up about anywhere. But I've been playing that for even longer and can play by ear much faster with it. I'll probably bring it along too, to see if I can get any attention. <3

Also, piano self-taught, but that doesn't really matter in this situation. XD

london2191
03-27-2007, 09:36 PM
Recorder. -snort- Sorry, it amuses me.

WAH! Well, you're definitely coming with me! I've been searching for a second part to play To Zanarkand with me. So as long as you're there, I'm happy. ^^ I'm doing Yuna in the middle of Saturday so if you could arrange it then?

Piichi to Roy
03-28-2007, 03:59 AM
Hey, recorder is good stuff. xD *snorts along with you*

I'll do my very best! Should anything fall through, I'll let you know AHEAD of time! ^__^

london2191
03-28-2007, 03:21 PM
Okies. You should be able to sightread it perfectly. It's just a couple of eighth notes, quarter notes, half notes and about two dotted quarter notes. And there are a handful of accidentals.

rosabella
03-28-2007, 09:13 PM
So we're doing this when? And do you need me to conduct or would you rather me play?

london2191
03-29-2007, 07:17 PM
I'd like this to be on Saturday *mid-day* that way I'm in Final Fantasy costume. And if there's a Final Fantasy shoot, I'd like to have it then, otherwise we'll just do it at a random time.

If I find a part for violin to go along with us, I'll have you join but otherwise your conducting skillage is much needingness. =3

Star_Angel
04-01-2007, 09:54 AM
Just to let you know, I will be there, I might have to leave for a little bit to get judged because I might enter the contest on Saturday, but I'm planning on coming. I'll have one of my Violin students with me, but I don't think she will play, she has horrible anxiety when it comes to sight reading and playing on the spot.

Piichi to Roy
04-02-2007, 07:02 AM
Is it all going to be sight-read? Or should there be practice before hand? :3

Just curious, I'm fine with either, but much more confident in my playing skill if I know what I'm playing ahead of time. :D

london2191
04-02-2007, 01:13 PM
Well, we should meet up somewhere quiet and practice for like 5 minutes because it's not hard at all and I already know it. And then we can go to public places and play. =3

Yep. I need to review the music and see if the people that post here are still up to it. Like usual. xD I believe there might be other clarinet duets to play, I need to get off my butt. x.x

BTW, what cosplay are you wearing that day?

Piichi to Roy
04-04-2007, 09:03 PM
Haha, I'm lazy too. And that's a good plan. xD

Cosplay? I haven't started one yet, 'cause I'm a procrastinator, but I was thinking about doing an Edward (FFIV) crossplay. xD;;

london2191
04-05-2007, 01:31 AM
Hm, well, the duet doesn't need much conducting. It just kinda flows. I'm kinda not wanting to do the FFX song anymore because it's too slow. >> It's all half notes for you guys. I posted the link if you wanna check it out.

Also, there's another piece with a similar instrument arrangement. It's Final Fantasy V tho' which I've never played so unless someone wants to do it. It's really cute tho' and it goes all fast and stuff. It's playable too. It's call the Waltz. Ask if you wanna see music for it. Anyone have requests for certain instruments from certain FF games?

I'm thinking of doing that Waltz song. It's funnnorzz. Besides, variety is fun, nee? Lemme post.

First Violin (http://www.finalfantasymusicscores.com/FFMS/FF5-WaltzClavier-4ClarStrings/FF5WaltzClavier4clstrings-violin1.gif)

Second Violin (http://www.finalfantasymusicscores.com/FFMS/FF5-WaltzClavier-4ClarStrings/FF5WaltzClavier4clstrings-violin2.gif)

Clarinet (http://www.finalfantasymusicscores.com/FFMS/FF5-WaltzClavier-4ClarStrings/FF5WaltzClavier4clstrings-clar.gif)

Cello (http://www.finalfantasymusicscores.com/FFMS/FF5-WaltzClavier-4ClarStrings/FF5WaltzClavier4clstrings-cello.gif)

I also might get my friend to play cello. *AshAndG4ry* She's getting lessons now tho' and just learning but she has all of summer and she's asian, so it should be easy. xD WAH! This is like Power to the Asian arrangement. Except, we're all gonna be like 3 1/2 asian. Because of me. Anyway, I'll get LiL_KRN_YUNA to check out this thread.
