So..Um, I took it upon myself to try this cosplay. Eveybody's done normal Greed...but what about fully-shielded!Greed?! I mean, if people can do Armor!Al, why can't Shield!Greed be done?
So anyways, here's where you guys come in.
....I have no clue where to start. xD;; Um..Bodysuit? And what about his head? o_O;; Yipes.
On the left hand side... (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v622/Chaos-Blade/FMA/Greed/moregreedcosplayrefedit.jpg)

Edit: Oh yeah, BTW, I'm a chick. xD;

At cosplaysupplies.com they have full body body suits that also cover the head look there.

That would work great for the body, thanks. ^_^ But what about the teeth? They kinda stick out, like in bas-relief. And his claws? Like REAL claws. I've heard about some sort of moldable clay you can fire that would work well? I dunno...

Were you thinking of sculpy?

Scuplty or do a modification of my Soi Fong's blade for the claws over the bodysuit. (Paper triangles with ring base for wearing.)
Teeth - if you had the bodysuit - model magic (a foam like clay from Crayola) that dries to a very light condition.
Muscles might be hard - you might pad the bodysuit?

If you do Greed like that it will be soo awesome

Ah yeah, I think it was Sculpty, but would I have to use support wires under it or would my hand work well enough? For it to stay together, that is.
And as for the muscles, I'm not so sure. I was thinking of getting the upper part of one of those cheesy superhero costumes and using it for the muscle base under the bodysuit itself. And in that case, hard plastic or those stupid polymer 3D things?
And also, array lines? Fabric paint, maybe?

Array lines, possibly fabric paint or if you lack artistic skills (fabric cut and sewn on to look like the array lines.)....
Maybe paper claws strengthened with a mad amount of glue would suit you.
04-02-2007, 12:47 PM
Yeah, I'll probably use fabric paint for the array lines. But about his claws, I'm not so sure paper claws would be the best idea. The way you made yours was rather ingenious but it's a lot longer than Greeds, so I was thinking maybe a cheap set of rubber monster gloves and having them under the bodysuit just for shape...? Or maybe Sculpty if all else failed.
And his eyes, oof. I was thinking either one of those sets of full contact lenses which usually run about $400 or painting them on the outside like a lazy person and then putting in eye slits, but that might make it hard to manuver around...
And any clue about those bumps on his back? I'm trying to be as accurate as possible and he has like these...spinal bumps on his neck and upper back..
You guys are great, thanks. x3

Thanks.... :toothy: As to the spinal bumps (dunno), maybe sew them into the bodysuit? (Fabric covered lumps, then sealed with something for the texture.)

Wouldn't carved styrofoam or something like that work instead? Just for the shape?
04-03-2007, 09:46 AM
yeah, it could work, but just thinking of the comfort level. Conventions just don't walk themselves, do they? :D You could test run both for the comfort level...I guess...
04-04-2007, 12:02 AM
I realize that, thanks. xD I was looking at the styrofoam on the shelves and kinda shuddering...But what about the eyes? Would fabric paint and eye slits work, do you think?
04-06-2007, 07:46 PM
Yeah, I think it might...if you could find the "grim reaper" mask fabric thingy in red (You can see thru it, but the people can't see you.) it might work better.
If I see Greed in full armor, I'm going to glomp him/you!

Even if I did that, the irises are purple so I'm not quite sure how that'd work...Still, good thinking. ^^
Why? Are you going to Otakon or AWA?
And I'm not dressing slutty...;___;
