just curious

O.K... so if you had to choose the 5 "best" rock songs.. what would they be? best can mean.. ones you love the most.. or the best representation of something, etc...
even though the bands I listed.. I like some of their other songs more.. I chose these 'cause I think they're the most important, or just a good representation...
just your 5 "best".. I guess you could add one or 2 more IF you absolutly have to..

mine...

THE SUGARCUBES "Birthday"

THE SMITHS "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out"

NIRVANA "Smells Like Teen Spirit"

......
and some additionals

ATARI TEENAGE RIOT "Destroy 2000 Years Of Culture"

Santana anyone? "Black Magic Woman".

I don't listen to a lot of hardk rock... mostly alternative, and I'm afraid I'm too mainstream. :P

The Pixies-Where is My Mind
Bikini Kill-Suck my Left One
The Sex Pistols-God Save the Queen
Richard Hell & the Voidoids-Blank Generation
Nirvana-Lithium

hmm..now that i look at this list I remember the phases where I went through listening to punk music at an impressionable age and am now listening to (better) indie music..some bands should still be listened to for nostalgic purposes though

hmmmm...but there are so many songs to choose from...well i guess my list would go like this:

5)Alice Cooper-Snakebite

3)Scorpions-No One Like You
2)Skid Row-18 and LIfe
1)Pink Floyd-The Wall

1. When the Children Cry - White Lion
2. I would do anything for Love - Meatloaf
3. Too late for Love - Def Leppard
4. Love Is A Battlefield - Pat Benatar
5. Pour Some Suger on me - Def Leppard

Hell, erase that list and juust put up the whole Hysteria album from Def Leppard. for the record. put Adrenalize down as the 2nd best album ever. and no true rock collection is complete withouut Def Leppard's Vault CD which is their greatest hits collection.

FRom,
Joe

KMFDM- Attak/Reload
Le Tigre- Much Finer
ATR- Revolution Action
Yoko Kanno- Heavy Metal Queen
Dead Kennedys- Holiday in Cambodia

Since "Rock" is such a diverse genre these are what i consider great "rock" even though most of them vary in style alot. Also have anyone of your heard the Industrial Tribute album to DK from Invisible Records. Meg Lee Chins cover of Nazi Punks Fuck Off! beats the original.(in my opinon)
