I need to make Futch's headband but, I have no idea how to go about doing it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

now trust me and this is coming from a die hard suikoden fan. Futchs head band isnt as hard as it seems. its just gonna take a bit. the most difficult part you'll encounter may be with the wings.......what will you be using plaster mold or actual plumes?

I have no idea...I thought maybe I could paper mache them or something?? I really don't even know where to begin. I never would have thought of using plaster mold or plumes and if I did how would I go about it??

plmes or feathers are real tough to do but looks the best in the end on the other hand you can get a good turn out from paper mache and plaster. the only thing about plumes is that you have to sow them in. (thank god for sowing machines)

Futch's headband is definitely NOT made of feathers! Those are dragon wings! I would use a wire base with gold vinyl (to look like bat/dragon wings), or simply mold them out of paperclay and paint them gold.
The headband itself is a plain gold vinyl headband.

Thanks for the suggestions! I think I'll give the wire base method a try:) Wish me luck! ::goes off to get started::

Hey Beatrix. Thanks for helping me with my Futch spear and asking about my Headpiece dilemma! I ended up using paper clay to mold the wings and then I sprayed them gold. For the band around the head I cut up a visor, wrapped it in gold ribbon and used velcro to stick the wings to the band. TA DA! Thanks everyone for all the suggestions! They set me off in the right direction.

No prob! I'm glad to see you finally got an account:)

Well I finally had some time to set it up heh... Well not that much time... But thanks anyways!
R u coming to BAAF? We have a Jowy(me), Riou, possible Culgan, and a Millie/Meg so far. Futch would be a great addition to the group. Let me know!

I not sure if I could go yet but that would be great! I have a Riou and Futch costumes and my friend has a Kinnison and Nanami. I can always ask her too. I also might be going to Otakon but that would be for the next year.

If we do end up going to Otakon next year we'll be probably be doing suikoden III ::fingers crossed:: I really want to go as the Flame Champion:)
05-25-2003, 07:28 AM
I'd like to go as him too but I'd rather go as..... Well I haven't decided yet he he... What ever happened to your Landis costume idea? Anyway, Suikoden III rocks!
05-25-2003, 04:39 PM
Oh, Landis is still a possibility as long as I figure out how to make his wings. I also wouldn't mind going as Ayame, Lilly or Sasarai...
I'd rather go as..... Well I haven't decided yet he he... :cough:Hugo:cough:;)
