First of all welcome to the site (I'm think your new due to only 1 post).
I would make the neck guard out of fomies (might have a diff name in your store) but its just craft foam that comes in sheets and comes up to 3mm in thickness. You would just have to put poster bord over it and then paint. You could make the circle things out of clay and glue them on. If you want the base part more 3D you could add model magic to it and then put a thin coat of regular self drying clay on top ( model magic tends to crack). Then you could attach by sewing velcro onto the cape thing and putting velcro on the neck piece. For the sword I really don't know. You could get a 2 pieces of foam cut it into shape put stick in middle and glue together and then paper mache(SP sorry) it. Then spray paint it silver. Others probably have better ideas. Hope this helps in some way.

I suggest foamie sheets and paper clay for the neckthing. Or even plastic sheeting. Papermache is possible too. You should also check out Sarcasm Hime's wonderful site. She has insiteful info on materials that you can use to construct the items too. That and plenty of nifty links. http://sarcasm.fanfic.org/cosplay.html
And for the sword I would recommend finding insulation foam. Most likely found in heavy duty hardware joints. Lowes, Home Depot that sorta thing. Monoyashajla did a loverly gigantic sword for her inuyash cosplay with that material. http://images.cosplay.com/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=2638&thumb=1 pics here. Hope that helps.

I'm making Soul Edge from Sou Calibur 2, its a nice 5 1/2- 6ft sword. Im making it out of wood. Although I am not a really large person, I can lift the sword. That is an option that you can do, though it is usually good for the people who have pretty good strength. To attach the pieces you can use a poxy type glue (its waterproof and holds up to 1000 lbs.)

If your a big person, you can always go as potemkin. Hes a huge character.

I can't use wood because it's an inch and a half thick it would be to heavy to carry around all day then back to the hotel.

Iím going to take it to otakon and it would probably not make it in because of the weapons policy.

Yeah, wood is a select taste, I just try to make it look like as if I am going to have problems with the sword, weight-wise. Something that will take a little time to get used to swinging it around.
