View Full Version : Inuyasha's Robe of the Fire rat...

I'm trying to overcome the biggest flaw that I see with the greater majority of Inuyasha Cosplays... that extra material on the front of his robe.

It can clearly be seen in these examples that the left hand panel folds over and tucks into it's self, and the excess material is held in place by a tie across the front:

I'm thinking that it might be at least a double width panel.

Anyone have some other ideas? This is by my second Inuyasha costume and while I had fun with my first I hated the costume... the material sucked (I'm going with at least cotton for this one), the sleeves didn't hang as I liked (i'm going to make sure the sleeves are nice and big), the pants were terrorible (I'm actually going to have an Obi with this one, and have them long enough that I can have the pants higher than I could with my previous costume, and try to have the baggier)

Incase you missed it in the block of text... anyone have some ideas?
Maybe it'll be easier to figure out when the patterns I'm going to modify actually get here...

I've seen people make it extra-loose, and Just pull it up and over, and button it up. I can't really suggest how to fix it, or make it better. Considering my girlfriend made my costume, and went by a pattern for something very similar.

I never truly noticed that, But thanks. I will go and fix that. And if I find an easy/good way that looks good, I'll post here.
