Can anyone point me in the direction of a good "Ponytail" tutorial (if it even exists)? I've tried doing a search for any previous related thread, but I couldn't finally anything useful. =/

How to pull a wig into a single ponytail? o_O You just sort of pull it back and comb it to keep it smooth. High ponytails are harder and take more patience, and possibly a few wefts sewn in.

I've heard of people pulling the wig up into the ponytail weft by weft for a smooth appearance. Oh, and you'll want to do this either on a friend's head or on a padded wig head. :)

It's actually quite simple with a bit of practice! Just pin the wig to your wighead as securely as possible, put the neck between your knees so it's hanging at the angle the ponytail needs to be, brush it (either with a wide-toothed comb or your fingers) into a ponytail and secure with an elastic. It's just like putting up your own hair except it's not on your head. XD Well, and afterwards, you have to stretch the wig cap out until it fits on your head.

What about the fuzz on the sides of the wigs, what if they show up and wont stay down? Should I trim them or something?

Good question... and what if you can see the bottom of the wig mesh?

Oh no. I was referring to a ponytail like this (http://members.aol.com/wwagner540/kaoru.jpg).

Use gravity to your advantage. The way I put the ponytail into my Abel wig was doing just that...I pinned the wig to the styrafoam head and then held it horizontally. All the hair was dangling downwards to the floor, at which point I bundled it up, brushed it smooth, rubber-banded it and then held it firmly in place with electrical tape. If you put the wig right-side-up again before putting a more permanent (or just stronger) wrap around where the hair comes together, then the ponytail will sag immediately and you'll lose the style.

Once I had the hair sufficiently taped, I pulled the wig off the wig-head and actually sewed the thing in place by stitching the electrical tape (closest to the main part of the wig) into the cap and wefts. Use a similar-color thread so it doesn't show. Once it's sewn, it won't sag at all when you wear it, and you can then add the bow on top of that.

Also if you have not bought the wig yet I suggest getting this one for the base wig since it’s a thicker wig to pull up into a bun (you wont see the mess) then attach a pony fall or extensions to make the ponytail and cut the bangs into it.
