I'm planing on making a Draenei costume. I have a vague idea of how I'll do the "backwards" legs. And the horns.
I was just wondering if anyone else had done something similar and how they did it.

Yay, a fellow Draenei cosplayer! ^_^
For my legs I'm using carved upholstery foam.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

This cosplayer seems to be on to something here. See if this image helps.

I saw a post on an LJ community asking about the legs ages ago, and someone posted shoes. I saved the pic since it'd be grand for a Succubus as well.
*points to attachment* I've yet to figure out how to make them rather than buying (since they're prolly expensive), but I think they'd work pretty dern well :D

You can check out the LJ fursuit community: http://fursuit.livejournal.com for nice tutorials for digitigrade legs.
For making boots with hooves I think you can start off with a pair of very high heeled boots and remove the heel, but if you remove the heel I believe you also have to change the slope of the sole because boots with heels are designed to have weight supported by the heel, so if you just lop it off you won't be able to keep your balance in the boots. It might be easier to just build some shoes/boots from scratch.
Check out the Yahoo!Group "Hooves" for some ways that other people have done similar things.

Nice! So there's yet a third draenei cosplayer on this site, eh? Believe it or not, Taipa's got a good point with the fursuit comm on LJ. Furries may not be the most normal people, but if you want legs to look like that, they'll be able to tell you how to do it... most of them with pictures! :D

I Was one of the few Draenei Cosplayers at Blizzcon 07, I opted for the clear high heal effect instead of trying to stuff hard foam in my blue stockings, although i tried it first and it didnt look right lol, so i just stuck with the heals. Also was asked to do a LARP while at blizzcon, and granted NOONE that was in the video knew what the heck to do, but as my cosplay draenei was a level 6 priest, I just 'healed' -.- and died.. lol lame i know. :D but it was fun none the less..

:D Made the horns with wire and toliet paper dipped in elmers glue and water, then painted. The Tenticle things were just sewn materal stuffed with little bits of foam and one little wire to pose them with, and the ear tips were just bought. I ordered special blue stockings and with the extra pair i turned it into the tail. Put soft foam sheets over the bottom of the clear high heals to make the hoof. Very simple and completed in two weeks prior to blizzcon. It was rushed and a little sloppy but It turned out better then i thought. Oh I cant WAIT till next blizzcon..
