*Sorry if any owners of the art/cosplays I've posted here object to me showing them as reference.

For May, I am planning a cosplay of Belphegor from Katekyo Hitman Reborn. The clothes part of the outfit is pretty easy, but I'm having difficulty thinking how to go about obtaining the accessories.

Firstly, and probably most expensively, is the boots. Now, unfortunately I don't have a proper official reference for them, but here's some pretty accurate fanart and cosplay. I'm fine with just white boots with black laces, they don't have to be exactly like in the anime/manga.

Basically, I've had a search, but I have no idea where to get boots like that. I've tried some major shops/online stores but I'm a bit lost because I don't really shoe shop, for myself or for cosplay, so could people reccommend a place to look for/buy them?

The second dilemma I have is the jewellery. Bel wears a tiara, as seen in the first picture, and also here (http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/926/belphegor2bb0.jpg). Do you think it would be a better idea to buy it or make it? I could buy it, but I haven't been able to find something accurate enough that isn't tacky. Equally, I have no idea how to go about making something like that. Any suggestions at all would be appreciated there.

I'd also like to have quite an accurate version of the Vongola sun ring (http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/8750/vongolaringsunxm1.jpg), although that isn't as big a deal as the tiara. I don't want to go too far and start investing in things like metal and... casting, really, so I'm asking for advice on materials/method of making both the ring and the tiara. Or indeed places to buy.

I apologise for this being such a lengthy post. Am I trying to be too accurate with this cosplay, do you think? The main reason I'm worried about it is that the rest of the costume is pretty simple, and I want to put a bit more work into my costumes.

You can find tiaras at any Claire's or other teen jewelry store, but if you say that they are tacky maybe you do want to do it yourself. I recently did a tiara commission and I used a flexible plastic material I found at a fancy-pants art store, then painted and added the details, you couls also use craft foam. Here it is:

You should use a little hair comb to attatch it to your hair instead of a headband.

As far as the ring, I suggest buying a ring the then building the emblem on top of it, then painting it all one color. I'd use model magic or paperclay, something you don't have to put in the oven. I made my Utena rose crest this way, it took some time but it worked out. Or you could always buy the ring, which would have you alot of frustration.

Thank you for the help, I'm now pretty sure that's how I'll try to make them, and if it fails I'll just buy something.

Been looking for some boots for my Rasler cosplay myself, and still had no luck. My best bet to buy some black boots and use fabric paint to make 'em white.
However, in my bounds across the interweb, I've found these Doc Martins which you might like:

Only problem is they're expensive. Perhaps search around and you may find them cheaper.

Doc Martins?
:]
I would use those for any boot like cosplay. I'd definatly invest for Belphegor. Doc Martins are tall, tie almost exactly like that and come in white. Just go to your nearest Hot Topic or Shoot store.

Thank you both! Soon I'm going shopping in the city and I'll see what I can find there. Doc Martens are looking quite good...
