View Full Version : Zero's Helmet (from Code Geass)

So I am planning on cosplaying Zero, but I really have no idea where to start with his helmet.

Here is one I have seen made:

And it can be seen in his character design here:

I guess I could give a blue tint to some clear bowl or something and build around it with foam or cardboard, but if anyone knows anyone who has actually made this or something similar advice would be much appreciated .

ah, hmm... yeah, I guess I'd rather make it myself, and it would be cheaper... but I'll check it out, thanks :). Do you have any pictures of how it came out?

oh wait, I have sen her helmet before :D, she was posted on the code_geass lj comm...

her, right?

Hmm, that was made out of foam and pvc, then? I think I will try that approach, since I'm probably too poor to buy it even if they are still selling them XD;.

try seeing if wonderflex or something of the same nature would work, it would seem ideal for this kind of thing. As for the blue tint for the front of his mask....I dunno what would be cheap.

Kiarou on deviantart explained how she made hers in a comment:
Its made from epoxy and fiber glass. First things first, start with a clay base [non-sulfuric clay] and sculpt the mask. Smooth it out and make it all nice and stuff. Next get some silicone rubber and ultra cal 30. put at least 3 layers of silicone rubber then let it dry. Next put the ultra cal over it. cut the silicone and ultra cal into 2 parts. Now you have 2 molds! Next get some epoxy and fiberglass and brush it in. Make a good amount of layers so that is nice and strong and thick. After that pop em out of the mold and epoxy them together. Sand and paint and ur done!

hope it helps!

Um i read on a forum that someone made the helmet out of foamies and then covered it in streatch vinyl. http://fruitjuicy.files.wordpress.com/2008/08/zero1.jpg?w=500&h=295Plus it opened with screws.
It sounds pretty cheap to make.
As for the face shield, I'm pretty sure you can make that out of Wonder flex. (if it comes in transparent ><)
Wonder flex isn't THAT expensive. Plus paying about 35 to make your own helmet isn't anywhere NEAR as expensive as paying $279 off of ebay. D;

I will love to cross play as Zero but I want to got for something that will last. I was going to use something as a base then work off of that. I need a little bit more info on the wounder flex or whatever that is call. I was thiking of going with fiber glass sheats and things like that. I think that will be my best bet as for the face pale I am not sure how to make that.. I need to have it dark enough for my face not to be seen but light enough for me to see out of any help with that? I was thiking of colored resen but I might get a bubble... I was thiking of doing a some sore of clear bowl also. I am not sure any help would be wounderfull!
