Please post all of your Costume-Con 2008 photo gallery links in this thread only, with the following guidelines:
1. Your link should point to the exact gallery, not the front of your website. Links sending members to your website expecting everyone to "find the pics" will be removed.
2. If you would like to let everyone know that you have updated your gallery you have already linked to, please edit your original post.
3. Please limit the commentary in this thread.
IMPORTANT: This is the thread for ALL members to post their Costume-Con picture links, etc. DO NOT create your own thread for your pictures, or start another general thread about Costume-Con pictures in the days, weeks, and months after the con. Any such created threads will be CLOSED and then DELETED so please stick to posting in this thread and this thread alone in regards to Costume-Con pictures. Thanks.

Notes about the official Costume-Con 26 photo archive.
Thank you to all our photographers who agreed to donate photos to the project, and to everyone who stood still for a photo. I just made it home. In the car is the external drive containing all of the photos collected by the Photography Office, along with the backup drive which so far contains one-third of the photos. (We checked out of the hotel before the mass copy was finished. After I hook it back up and finish the backup, I'll ship the backup back up north.)
For those who tuned in late: The Photography Office collected twenty-thousand-plus photos from a team of roving photographers including the Official Photography event coverage team, the other official photographers, the "Unofficial Photographers," most of the Hall Costume Award team, professional photographers, obsessive amateurs, people who spent most of their convention looking for fans in costume who didn't have any stickers on their badge yet... there are about thirty photographers represented in the full collection. (Laura, Amy, Shawn: if you don't see me, please mail me your CD-ROM/DVD-ROM to Chaz Baden, PO Box 17522, Anaheim CA 92817-7522. Thanks.)
There are pictures of the Victorian Underwear party, and the 30's/40's Bathing Beauties by the Pool. There are some good shots taken during the F&SF Masquerade as well as the various ones taken outside. We have pictures of people waiting in line, people bouncing on beds, the Mousekerade, a few from the pre-con tours, some set-up and tear-down shots, tour of the dealers room... lots of good stuff in here. (And some random stuff, like U.C. Berkeley side trips. We might edit those out of the collection.)
With this large a collection of photos, it's going to take some time to get them on line and to identify the obvious duds and duplicates. John O'Halloran and I are working out how to host them without it costing Costume-Con anything. I'm also trying to decide whether to use off-the-shelf software, or to whip up something custom for the project -- with this large a collection, I don't want to spend all my time mousing and clicking to do the broad organization if I can do it from a command line instead.
In broad terms, though, once we launch the photo website, we'll go through the convention chronologically. It's too early to tell whether we'll post all of the thumbnail images first and then go back filling in the large format images, or if we'll just post all variations of the first photos before going onto the later ones. Some photographers are donating their full-size images, others are letting us post 600x800 images, and in all cases we'll be generating "viewing-size" images and thumbnail images. In any event, we're looking at ~60 GB of material to push up to the website, not counting the size of the database we'll have created before this is all over. If you're waiting to see photos taken on Monday, it's going to take a us awhile to get that far. Please bear with us.

The following is a forward from the CC26 Bid Chair:
"The photo workflow office is back in Orange County, and is still working like mad to process the over 20,000 pictures that volunteers shot and turned in. It's going to take a few days for these to get uploaded.
But don't wait! There's hope!
If you're a Flickr member, and you shot photos at Costume-Con 26, please consider adding your convention sets to the Costume-Con 26 group photo pool (http://www.flickr.com/groups/cc26/). We've already got two members who have added their sets, but we would love to see more."

I have to say, that the days were great, and my party room sucked. But then again, it seemed that even most of the other party rooms (I heard) were not as attended as much.
I took ten rolls of film with me, and used all but three frames. I tried to get a lot, but looking at some other threads, I somehow missed ALOT. Ah well, you try...
I would have tried to bring Servo and Gypsy with me, but they are lost in our fernetic and frantic packing from our eviction in February. (Even with the storm) And I wish I could have gotten my Dark Arcanine costume done. It wold have been sweet with the tricks I'm working into it.
But, I did meet Yuichiro Sakuta, the masquerade coordinator for WorldCon in Japan. We've been emailing each other for a few years. And he brought me a couple of DVDs. One for the Cosplay summit 2005, and another of a tv show to crown the king and queen of cosplay.
Plus, I did not know that there were only 12 entrants.... And he also brought me a BGC Priss figure. All surprised me, because I owe him for a couple of kits...
But, this was just what I was needing from such a crappy beginning of the year.
Now, to get the pictures done, and get my special issue of my AMERICAN COSTUMER/COSPLAYER MAGAZINE done for CC27. And hope that we get the bid for 2011..
J-A-G PICTURE PRODUCTION
(Webcomic: TRANSFORMERS the litany
zines: American Costumer/Cosplayer magazine
and more to come.)
Okay, now I am having a problem with the hotel. The bill I got before I left, said one thing, and now what they took out of my account is saying another. $111.00 difference.

You must have been there at different times, then. As I was working Masq. staff, I could not get to the parties until late after the major events, and they were pretty hopping by then. :)

Well, I got some government money (No, not the one that is coming, this is extra from my tax returns.) And I am putting my pictures up from CC26,slowly... Like 3 to four a day.
So if you want to see: http://www.cosplay.com/gallery/110948/
They're not in any order, so enjoy...
And I must admit, some of them in the "Light vacuum" areas, are coming out better than I had hoped.

This is an update to HazelChaz's announcement --
The official Costume-Con 26 Media Repository is starting to take shape at
As they process and cull more images, the gallery will continue to grow.
If you think you have photos of people/places/events at CC26 that were missed by our mob of roving photographers, and are willing to share them with our official collection, please drop an email to email@example.com so our photo department can discuss with you how we might best use your images.
