View Full Version : Otakuthon. Place to Stay

I am not familiar with Montreal XD
I was wondering about hotel rooms (if there are any), if anyones reserved a room and looking for someone else to join their room.
I may or may not need a room, depending if I can stay with one of my friends whom I met at Otakuthon last year.
Also, I heard it's in a bigger venue this year and beside China Town?
If I remember correctly, the bus station is very close to China Town?
I know bus is only like 65 bucks for student and 75 bucks for adult I believe (from Ottawa), which is a good deal I think.
Give me your info! XD

I'm staying at the travel lodge, just around the corner from the convention centre, not to pricey, but not cheap either. I would suggest booking sooner rather than later if you do plan on staying at a hotel simply because there is always a lot going on in Montreal during the summer months and you might find it hard to book something if you leave it to the last minute.
As for the bus, I can't quite remember where it arrives, but there should be a greyhound station downtown which would put it relatively in walking distance.
Good luck with your choices.

We have an official hotel for our convention too. it's the holiday inn and we have a good deal with them and the hotel is really beautiful.
It's not too far away from the bus station but if you have a lot of thing, I would suggest that you take the subway to get to the con. It's pretty easy with the subway since that the con is right next to the Place D'armes station. You just have to exit and it's the Palais des Congres.

Hmmm I should find people to go with XP Im sure I can find some people. I've never booked a hotel before, usually I just find someone to stay with or room with someone who does have a room already. I shall keep searching.

About bus passes, you could buy a weekly pass for maybe 20-25$, i'm not sure of the exact price. the 65$ one is for a month. Unless you're planning on staying here for that long.
Hotels, you'd probably be better off at the Holiday inn if it's not completely booked yet. Sorry i can't be much more help :( I live here in Montreal so i've never really needed a hotel >.<

I remember last year, it was 65 bucks there and back for student and 70 bucks I think for adult.
