Anyone else planning on doing this beauty? I'm planning her white dress which she wears in The seven year itch, her chacter is; The Girl. I'm buying fabric in London and starting on it as soon as I get home. Anyone else done or planning on doing something of hers?

I love the gown she wore for Kennedy's birthday

"Happy Birthday Mr. President . . ." I saw a picture of it in a Sotherby's/Christie's auction catelog. It was breath-taking!

Her's was a tragic story. I think that under other circumstances she'd still be alive and acting today.

But if she still was alive today, she might not be such an icon.

And that dress so magnificen, I totally forgot about that one

I wonder if she purposely walked over the air vent or if it was just on accident...

I'll probably do a Maryln Monroe costume one of these days. I'm a HUGE pin-up fan, and since Maryln Monroe is practically queen of the pin-ups, I must do a costume of hers :)

I'm already working on a Betty Page outfit. Ok, so it's a lingerie outfit that I intend on doing for a photo shoot just for fun, but it's a Betty Page outfit none-the-less. I finally finished the wig. Look in my gallery to see it

and daria_jack, I LOVE your avatar!

There must be a way to design a prop for the skirt blow routine. If it's a really really soft and light fabric maybe a battery powered fan could work. On the shoe? or at the end of a cane?
Just a thought...

Watch "the 7-year itch," it's a really cute scene.

I'm the biggest fan of old movies and I love to watch the making of anything (I loved the Special on Edith Head) Anyways, the director had Monroe walk over the grate and she was suppose to say her line (something like "The wind feel so good when it's so hot!" and a train really want buy at that time and the updraft took her skirt. It wasn't planned but the director saw how hot and how fabulous the camera angles were and kept it. It wasn't planned at first.

Gotta love how things like that work out. So the surprised look on her face was real.

OMG Olivia I must see your Bettie Page outfit when you're done! I'm a huge fan of pin-ups and Bettie too! (Dita von Teese is my favorite though)

And Dani, the fan is a good idea, I was just thinking about blow-dryers. I think the fabric is chiffon.

I've done her costume before, no full-length pics. But I have a bunch of webcam stills, it was the Gentlemen Prefer Blondes pink number she scored. Marilyn Monroe is an absolute doll. I'd really like to make a replica of the dress she wore in Niagra, ...you know the dress. ^_~

Is it just me or is it eerily creepy that MM was born in 1926 and died in 1962?

EDIT: I've decided to do this outfit: http://us.imdb.com/gallery/mptv/1169/5709-10.jpg I think it's super pretty and neat, and she looks great in it
