I decided today, I will be going to TGS. However, I don't know if I'll be cosplaying because I will be on a study abroad program.

I'd love to do Sarah, but there is no way I'd be able to finish the outfit in time. I'll probably be going as Miyo Takano from Higurashi no naku koro ni kai.

I'll be there as well.
As far as cosplay... I don't even have time to line up for the games, so not cosplaying at all.

Not cosplaying (didn't bring anything finished with me, just something to work on), but I would like to go. Are any of you currently in the Osaka area? Maybe we could meet up and go together to make it easier.

Osaka? D: Are you planning on staying over night or Shinkansen'ing it or what?

Honestly, I don't know the train system/my schedule well enough to decide yet. I could stay overnight I guess if I could find somewhere that wasn't crazy expensive.

You can find a good hotel for 6000 yen or less. The problem is more that your cheapest one way train fare would be like 9000 yen. :[ I won't clog up the thread with this; I was just concerned.

I wish I could go to TGS this year. I loved it last year. :lost: Post lots of photos, guys!

Ah, really? That's a bit out of my price range. I'm a student ^^;

Ohhhh, Maes Huges *0*!!
I love him! I want to cosplay him some time. I hope you can do it, it will be great =D!

I have a friend that want to cosplay Flame Mustang, if you want to make a team in the future it could be great too xD!!!

( I usually cosplay Edward Elric, one of my favorites character of FMA ^^)

Sounds good. I'll probably only be there on Saturday though. If your friend has a cell phone, we should probably exchange numbers if we want to meet up. The convention center is huge and I won't be cosplaying the whole time. Will you be in Japan by then Nekomaru?

Also, tu_sense, if you want to get to Tokyo from Osaka, the cheapest way is by night bus. The 123bus company, which offers online booking in English, has an overnight bus for about 4000yen one way. You could also find a youth hostel for around 3000yen or so a night. Still kind of pricey though.

I can't wait for this event! It was an absolute blast last year. I'll definitely be taking a ton of photos as well. I wasn't in the cosplay area much last year and so my photos were kind of lacking. That won't be the case this year.

That's not too bad actually. It would be $100+ for the whole weekend but if I saved up and intended to dump a lot of money for this event in lieu of some other weekend trip, it might be OK. I'm here as a student, but I also want to see and do as much as a I can. I'm going to try to earn the money back when I return to the states.

I'm coming from Kumamoto, which is in the very southern area of Japan (Kyushu), so I will be going ANA or JAL. We should try to meet somewhere around the Convention area if we can.

Planning on going, but I have no costume and just got to Tokyo two weeks ago, so not even any supplies to make one. ^^;

It might be fun to make and wear a memorable prop, if nothing else, but there's no way I have time to do a decent job on a costume... I so wish though... ^_^;

Who all made it there? I went Saturday and it was fun! Minus the huge number of people of course. I'll get some pics up tomarrow I hope. My camera battery went dead on the train ride back home... need time to charge it.

I was there on Sunday. Did some cosplaying as well. The line to the cosplay dressing room was just as long, if not longer than the lines to several of the popular games and showings! Will have pics up soon.

I know BlankChocobo was there as well. We managed to meet up for a bit. I had a great time. TGS is definitely my absolute favorite Tokyo convention.

I timed a family vacation to Japan with TGS this year and managed to get to the show on Saturday for a few hours. I've posted a gallery here:
http://ota.smugmug.com/gallery/6401335_Y6d3X

Most of the gallery is actually pictures of campaign girls and the exhibition booths. The cosplayers are near the start (pp3-5) and end (pp11-12). I really enjoyed Macross Frontier this past year so I was happy to see a Sheryl Nome and a Klan Klan in attendance.

Enjoy.

Wow, you guys took really nice photos there. I was there on both days, but this year I don't even have time to stay for the cosplay area. Many area are so jam packed with people.
I was lucky to have met someone outside when everything was finished though.
Very good show, happy.
