View Full Version : Comiket 75

I'll be in Tokyo over Christmas this year, just wondering if anyone from around here planned on going to Winter Comiket? I have never been to Comiket before and while I don't mind perusing the doujinshi at my own pace and such, it seems a little lonely to be cosplaying by myself. ^^; Even if we're not from the same series (I think I'll be going as Kumatora from MOTHER 3) it'd be nice to have someone to chat with here and there. I know Winter isn't nearly as popular as Summer Comiket though, and so close to Christmas people probably won't be travelling here, but I figured I'd check!
11-05-2008, 03:53 PM
Travelling around Japan for Christmas holidays as well I'll be attending the Comiket too and I was wondering if I would wear a costume. Same thing as you, I don't really want to be alone with my costume. I'll be with my brother but he's only taking pictures, not cosplaying...
If I'm not alone I think I'll wear a costume too.
11-06-2008, 05:22 AM
Cool. :) If we could get a little meet-up together that would be awesome! I plan on going to the 2nd day of Comiket since that's when the video game doujins are mostly out (supposedly). I'll be in town all three days, though, so nothing's set in stone.
11-09-2008, 07:42 AM
I'll be going to Comiket this year, also. I'm going as Chrome Dokuro from Katekyo Hitman Reborn. I've never been there either, so I don't know what it's like. I'll look for you, I feel the same way about cosplaying alone.
11-11-2008, 09:49 AM
What is the date for it? I live in Tokyo, but I'm visiting the states for a few days around Christmas. If I'm still in town, I'll go. Have 2 different cosplay as well, but neither one will match up with what you have.
11-11-2008, 02:50 PM
I think I'll come on Saturday (December 29) as Yuna White Mage and Sunday (December 30)as Chii.
I agree it coud be a great idea to find a place and time to meet all and get there together. The only question is where to meet in such a big crowd. Does someone have an idea of an easy place to meet ?
11-16-2008, 07:18 AM
Hey I have been to Comiket a few times and it is VERY crowded. But there is an Mac Donald maybe 200m from the Station on the way to Big Sight, meeting in front of it should work.
You may want to meet at least 2 hours before opening because pepole will starting to line up when the frist trains start and you will be waiting for a long time.
I normaly go an hour after starting time then I don't have to wait TOO long.
But since you will have to change there...
Well I just registert because I have seen your post ^^ I like cosplay but I don't have the time or money to make something right now T_T
If I can help somehow let me now.
11-16-2008, 07:24 AM
Oh and I just looked up the date it will be from the 28th to the 30th, when I was there in winter 2004 it was only two day, now it is also 3 days like the sommer one, lucky us.
But you may want to check when you want to go. If it is like the sommer ones I have been to, it will be the frist 2 days with mostly yaoi doujis and the last one with mostly hentai.
11-19-2008, 04:00 AM
You're right about meeting beforehand...standing in line for hours by yourself sucks. :P I wasn't planning to get there THAT early though, ha ha. It's been said that if you wait until even just 10 AM to get in line, you'll go through it much much faster.
In that case, what time were you all planning to go (like, before-it-opens, after-it-opens, etc) and on what days? As Hikari_birdy mentioned, there are different genres on different days. I recall reading that day 1 tends to be shoujo-ish stuff and day 2 is video games and some shounen (with yaoi on both days) while most of the hentai circles are out on day 3.
Perhaps we could organize a line meetup or two, and then meet again in the cosplay square later.
Also, if you haven't got a hotel booked and you wanted to go the cheap route, better hurry. :P I waited way too long (like...till a few days ago) and now I'm staying at 6 different hotels (and two nights in a karaoke box) for my two-week stay. Hah.
11-19-2008, 06:48 AM
It's right if you don't have anything you really want getting there after 10 is best.
There are many peopel that want a douji from a good circle so they go there early to get in within the first half hour. So from my expirience it is best to go between 10.30 and 11, but you will not be able to get the most popular doujis anymore, but as long as you can wait for them to be sold at K-Books or so it will be much easier.
It should cut the wait to under a hour, still a long time best spend with someone to talk to.
Also don't forget that most of that time will probebly be spend outside so have a good look at the weatherreport. Last time I was standing in a soft rain for half a hour, lucky I didn't get a cold.
I'm going to the Comic City this weekend (a monthly con much smaller than Comiket), I wonder if anything has changed in the last year.
I can give you better infos about a meeting point after that.
11-23-2008, 02:48 AM
OK when I was at Big Sight today, it came to me. Meeting there would be very depressing for the waiting person seeing all the peopel that arrived after you getting in line before you and that will be MANY peopel. So maybe meeting at the Rinkai Line Gate at Ooimachi would be better or an other station depending on where you will stay. But in Ooimachi there is just one Gate for Rinkail Line and peopel are coming from left and right so there is a wall in front of it where you could wait. But form Yamamote line Osaki is the easier way, but I have never taken the train from there and Ooimachi also has a JR line. If you could give me the name of the Station you will stay at I may can find a other good place to meet.
If you still prefer to meet at Toky Big Sight, the Mac Do is still there and they have a statuar of a girl holding a hat in front of it. So good place to meet.
I feel like I'm spaming you. I hope I'm helpful not anoying ~.~
11-23-2008, 04:11 AM
No, it's no problem at all! You're being quite helpful. :) I know Odaiba well, but I've never been there during Comiket so I'm not totally sure on everything.
Perhaps we could meet in the Teleport Bridge, that way people coming from both Rinkai and Yurikamome would have no trouble finding it?
11-23-2008, 11:53 AM
I may be in Tokyo during that time. If I'm there, I will definitely try to make it.
11-24-2008, 01:30 AM
OK I have looked for a map the one I found was not so got but I still, marked the Stations I would use and the Point where Mac Do is RED and the area the will be crowded in a transperent red, also the bridge I think Izumimon is talking about I marked blue.
That Bridge is a bit of and quite big but there wouldn't be so many peopel, but I think it may be harder to get in line from that point, I never tried. It could be a good place when you get of at Teleport, for Yurikamome line I don't know wich station is the best. For Big Sight you normaly use Kokusaitenjijo-seimon, but there is also a station called Ariake that is right next to the Station the Rinkai Line users would take. I marked that two Stations.
Sorry the map was a bit small, and that big red thing is supposed to be an arrow T_T
I'm no good at Photoshop,
Also the last time I was there in Winter was 4 years ago, but last summer I haven't been waiting at the marked area but on the side of it and then went all the way to the back of the east hall to get in, but other peopel where waiting there.
I think they had two gates open to get in, the front gate I mostly used and that easthall backgate. Any questions just ask, I'm happy to help, I don't seek much japanese but my hostfamily will help me.
11-24-2008, 02:36 AM
The blue spot is the Yume-Ohashi. It's not actually far from Big Site...5 minutes walk or so, but we wouldn't be able to see the line, that's all.
Perhaps it would be better to meet by Ariake, since as you said, both Rinkai and Yurikamome have stations there?
11-26-2008, 07:49 AM
Hi, I randomly popped up in this thread, disappeared, and now I'm back. ^^ I just got some questions. Is the Big sight very far from the subway station? The map I got seems to make it very confusing, and I'm afraid I might get lost if the station's not connected to the Big Sight. Yes, I have no sense of direction. Also, what's all this about a Comiket Guidebook or something? I don't know whether or not you can get them in English or not, I'm kinda worried about that. Can you also get them at the actual event, or do you have to buy one beforehand? All the online sources say that they're sold everywhere in Tokyo, but they didn't say that you could get them at Comiket itself. Thank you! (I hope none of my questions are too obvious/talked about before/stupid.)
11-26-2008, 11:16 AM
I'll be back in Tokyo on the 29th, so I can make the 30th. As my cosplay goes, I need to check on the rules since I have the shoulder armor made from steel. I don't know if they allow metal costume parts at this con or not. Either way I'll go, just more fun when I can dress the part.
11-26-2008, 11:15 PM
The Ariake Station (Yurikamome) and the Kokusaitenjijo Station (Rinkai) are just about 100m apart. I will try to get a scan from my map and upload a better pic. But I think taking the Rinkai, when you can, is the best, the trains are bigger. So lets just say meeting at Mac Do is best for now, since it is on the way from the stations to Big Sight, and the Line should not go that far anymore if the meeting time is after 10. If we think of something better that is good to.
There is no way you will lose your way there will be nearly no one on your train who is not going where you want to be. And the first building to your left (from Kokusaitenjijo) will where the Mac Do is. About 150m from the station, Big Sight is an other 500m or so. I think I will also draw a map but don't laugh when I post it T_T
11-27-2008, 07:10 AM
You can get the Guidebook at the Con that is even cheaper, but that thing is heavy and if someone else has it you don't need it. It is just impotant to find the Circles you want to buy doujis from. So I will get one one or two week bevor, I could scan the Groundmap (just have to get the scanner working for me), that is all you need when you are not there for the Doujis.
I drawed a map I hope it didn't turned to small you will have to save the pic to your PC. If it has gotten to small I will upload it at Mediafire. My drawing it bad but you should be able to understand it.
11-28-2008, 07:46 AM
OK Only the download the the drawn map, because it isn't readable.
12-03-2008, 12:39 AM
I've scanned an Odaiba area map, as well, if anyone wants to print it for their reference.
Most of the island is quite walkable so if you find yourself wanting to head to another station to get a seat on the train on the way home after, just hop over to Ariake (Yurikamome) or Kokusai-tenjijo (Rinkai). If you want to go to the shops but avoid the train, you can walk to Aomi (10 min or so) with ease, or cross the Yumeno-ohashi Bridge and then take the big overpass. It goes to Odaiba-kaihinkoen and won't be more than 20 minutes. There's lots of restaurants in Aqua City (Daiba Station or Tokyo Teleport Station) and DECKS Tokyo Beach (Odaiba-kaihinkoen Station or Tokyo Teleport Station) as well as a little mall close to Big Sight. DECKS may still have their Christmas light displays up if you want to look at them. FujiTV (Daiba/Tokyo Teleport Stations) is also cool to visit if you're looking to kill time, as is the Palette Town ferris wheel (Aomi Station but walkable from Big Sight), Venus Fort and the huge arcade near the ferris wheel exit, open 24 hours. If you have a chance or are going to be in town for a couple days, I recommend trying one of the water buses (suijo bus), you can board at Aomi/Palette Town, Big Sight, Odaiba-kaihinkoen, Hinode (on the other side of Tokyo Bay), Hamarikyu (likewise), Harumi or Toyosu on the other side of Odaiba, or Asakusa (all the way up the Sumida River, this is totally worth it!) They tend to stop running around 5, though, and only go once an hour. Make sure, when you buy a ticket, you know which stop the boat is headed for.
I love Odaiba so much. <3 Wish the hotels were actually afforable, haha.
Here's a map, conveniently in English:
If you want a real copy or you forget to bring it, you can pick one up in any Yurikamome station.
12-09-2008, 09:07 AM
I live in Tokyo so I'll be swinging by Comiket all 3 days for the cosplay.
The more interesting and rewarding ways to get to/from the Tokyo Bigsite would be the monorail or waterbusses, but the Rinkai Line is by far the easiest, fastest, and cheapest way to get there. Just get off at Kokusaitenjijo Station and follow the herd. 99.9% of the people getting off at Kokusaitenjijo are going to comiket. Just follow the crowd because the line wraps around several city blocks in a weird shape crossing streets and ect. If the line is still long when you get there you'll actually have to walk away from the Tokyo Big Site to get in line. Just follow everyone and you'll be good. Besides the line usually isn't as bad in the winter.
Finding the new cosplay area and changing rooms are 10 times more difficult than finding comiket, you'll understand when you get there lol Hopefully it'll be better organized now that they've had all fall to figure it out. They changed the cosplay area and changing rooms in the summer because of an accident that occured during Summer Wonder Festival which is just before Summer Comiket.
Friday: Police Sergeant, 12. Infanteriedivision Feldgengendarie Troup A 1937-1941 (WWII)
Saturday: Shiraishi Minoru (Lucky☆Star)
Sunday: Kyon (Suzumiya Haruhi), Yamazaki Hiromi (Patlabor: Movie 1)
12-10-2008, 06:05 AM
All right, so with things just a few weeks away, we should cement our plans. I personally plan to arrive later in the day so I'm going to join the line up at 11:15 on the 28th (that's a Sunday, the Sunday plan is general games and anime, etc) and PROBABLY the 29th as well (Monday, General manga, Shonen Jump, original Doujin softwares).
Therefore if anyone would like to join me in waiting in line (how fun!) I will be waiting at the statue in front of McDonalds at 11:00. The con opens at 10 so that should give the "there-since-5-AM" people plenty of time to get in. My cell phone email is email@example.com if anyone needs to get in contact. Anyone wanting to get in quite early will have to organize their own meeting place and time. ^^;
Sometime after that we should still get together in the Cosplay Square. I'm going to say 2:30 for now, though if anyone wants to change the time, that's cool. I don't know of any landmarks in the cosplay area, but we're foreigners, it can't be too hard to find each other. I personally will be wearing a short pink wig, a hooded blue dress and red boots, I should not be hard to spot. If you see me, say hi! This plan is for Sunday, if there's interest, I'm willing to cosplay on Monday too, just say the word.
If you are planning to attend my line-up meet-up OR the cosplay meet-up, please post in this thread so I know who to look for and whether I should be hanging around McDonalds until noon waiting for nobody, haha.
12-10-2008, 01:15 PM
What do you know, it is on a Sunday Monday Tuesday. That's different. Luckily I'm currently un-employed so all is well lol.
I'm planning on getting there around 9:00ish each day (gonna score a spot under the walkway to dump my bag... assuming they don't move the cosplay area again) so I'll see ya in the cosplay area. I won't be difficult to miss seeing as I'll most likely be the only 6 foot gaijin cosplayer there.
12-10-2008, 11:22 PM
Well and I'm planning to go around 10. I will try to buy the Pamphlet this WE then I will now witch days I will go and if I will go earlier.
It seems like we all take a different time. I'm not going to cosplay but I will try to find you there anyway ^^
12-14-2008, 12:14 AM
Got the Catalog.
Games are really on the first day, well I will go too because GW ist also on that day ^^.
So I will be there around 10.
Mostly FC Manga on the secound day like Naruto and FMA, also my day ^^ I may even go earlier.
Last day has to much hentai douji's, I'm the yaoi fan, so I will skip out on that one.
Costplay area seems to be beside the Busterminal and changing rooms seem a littel hard to find, for girls on the first floor and boys on the 6.
hey, i'm going with some friends, but its going to be my first time in tokyo o_o;;
we dont cosplay or anything, (more like i would, but its hard to look good in one for me), but i was wondering if itd be alright if we met up and waited in line together... or meet up and get a low down on whats going on... we'll actually be ariving on the 26th, so my original plan was to go there the day before and check things out and recon the area...
12-16-2008, 09:33 AM
12-17-2008, 12:47 AM
I just moved to Tokyo and want to make it for the Sunday line meetup. First comiket for me too so I hope I don't get tooo lost. ^^; I'm planning to go as Ritsuka from Loveless, but I'm not sure if I should even change there. I'll be wearing a long blue coat (my cosplay but it's modern day clothes) which will hide my tail and I will put on my kitty ears and chains when I get to the cosplay area. My wig is short and black but I'm Asian so it doesn't look unnatural.
So advice: do you think I can ride the trains like that? <.<;
12-17-2008, 01:28 AM
I think I'll go on the second and third days. I should be wearing a Pandora cosplay (St Seiya) one day, and maybe a Selphie cosplay (but not sure yet) from FFVIII the other day. I will probably come at 10:30 to avoid the main crowd (I'm not specialist enough to wait for the famous doujinshis so it's ok if I can see only the less famous ones).
12-17-2008, 07:21 AM
To silentdeath: I think you can take the train like that, the gothic dresses are flashier then what you will wear and they are also on the train ^^ just take care that you are warm enough. I hope I can make a pic I love Loveless ^^, to bad I haven't found any circles with Loveless Doujis on this Comiket. I may have to take an other look at the Katalog. But even last year I just got two Loveless Doujis T_T
To aien: Going there beforehand wounldn't help, it is a different place when all the people are there. Just move with the stream and you will be fine, if you have time before better get the Katalog, if you want to get a map ^^. But if you are just there to take a look, just go there without, finding the Cosplay area wouldn't be easier with it.
If you have any questions just ask.
Oh and if someone also plans to come around 10 I would be happy to meet up.
12-18-2008, 01:52 AM
Thx so much for your advice, Hikari_birdy! I don't know if I should even get the catalogue since I can't read Japanese. >.< Just wondering, can you please tell me when and where Minami Haraka will be? I'm a yaoi fan as well. ^^; Also...if I have a manga by a mangaka that is at the table, am I allowed to ask her to sign it?
Izumimon, will you be staying in the cosplay area or will you be looking at doujins as well?
Sorry for all these questions...trying to prepare for this hectic event. *runs away*
ahh im so excited about going to tokyo :DDD 8 more days till i get there ^^ then 10 days till the event!
anyone going alone or with a small group? im going with two of my friends from highschool, but if anyone else wants to meet and hang out and explore the con together, it could be fun? ^^ its our first time in tokyo and going to CM
12-18-2008, 05:08 AM
I'm going alone which is why I'm wondering who I can go with. ^^;
12-18-2008, 07:02 AM
To silentdeath: You are welcome, if you want we can meet up before and I can show you my catalogue. Or you tell me more about Minami Haraka and I can check for you, That is a doujika or not? Is that also the circles name and what series do they do? If it is a series I don't know it, so I will need a link.
On the first day I have Code Geass (Not my fav but I will take a look), Toward the terra ( I like Blue ^^), Lamento ( I don't even play the game but I found a good douji last year) and Gundam Wing (I will go there first, I just love Duo and Heero ^.~) on my plan till now I will go check the cricles again and may add something. If it fits your tast we can go togethere, but we can wait togethere anyway.
Also you can ask for a sign, I did it the first time too, they are just not used to it, so if you can't speak japanese they will first think they heard wrong. Also make sure the person is really the mangaka, they have friends help. And if there is a line don't keep people waiting for long.
To everyone: Can you please say what time you plane to come so that Izumimon (at 11am), Tsumanne (around 9am) or me (around 10am) will know if there are any people who we should wait for. That is for Sunday!
12-18-2008, 09:30 AM
Indeed, I'm also alone so willing to meet up, haha. I do plan to look at the doujins (MOTHER, Final Fantasy and Detective Conan mostly), in fact I will probably do that first, unless everyone else plans to cosplay first.
I'm headed to Tokyo on Monday evening, so I won't be available to check this thread often, but anyone can send me an email if they like.
12-19-2008, 01:15 AM
Hikari_birdy, you're going at 10am...where are you meeting people? Minami Haruka みなみ遥 is a name of a mangaka. I don't remember her circle name though. >.< There are only two tables I want to see and I can die happy: Eiki Eiki with Mikiyo Tsuda (they're at one table, circle Kozouya) and Minami Haruka....
Info from Kozouya I got off their site and I'll be there first.
28日(日) [蔵王組] 東４ホール シ－８３
30日(火) [子供警備隊] 西１ホール れ－５２
If only I can see Minami-sensei as well...though I heard trying to get to two or three major tables is nearly impossible. ^^;
I might want to see You Higuri as well...
12/30(火)冬コミ三日目 西地区 れ33a
Is it easier to contact each other via e-mail right now? I don't have my cellphone yet. >.<
12-19-2008, 05:04 AM
Izumimon you know that Detective Conan is on the 29th? And you really should do that first many circles stop selling around 1pm to hae time to look too I think.
silentdeath: Well the Kozouya circle is in the Gundam 00 or Destiny area, I will also go to that hall first but I will be a bit of, so inside we will have to part.
I think you should be able to go to both circles the big ones sell the whole time, they may just run out of the newer doujis.
I need more Infos about Minami-sensei, there is noone listed with that name, the list is with circle names, I can may tell you where to look when I know with series she is likely to draw.
Also I would prefere metting in Ooimachi, since I would hate to see people getting in line before me while I wait. And it is hard to be on time around 10am because of the full trains.
Hope you will have a cell then we can talk about details when you are here.
12-19-2008, 06:02 AM
I'll be taking the Rinkai line so meeting at Ooimachi shouldn't be problem...but I thought we need to get off at Kokusaitenjijo station? I apologize for the innane question. ^^;
I'll try to find more info about Minami-sensei. I feel ashamed...I've been a fan of hers for so long and I never got the name of her circle. >.< Thank you for your help!
EDIT: Found Minami-sensei! Circle ＭＥＣＣＡ－滅火－ *facepalm* I should have known!
12-20-2008, 07:05 AM
maybe I should come earlier after all. XD
go earlier then izu : )
are the catalogs posted online anywhere? page for page and all that junk?
i know i'm going mainly for figures and artbooks/sketch books, im not big into the whole doujin stuff.
i dont really have any real goals for this con, i guess im going just to go and experience it... i have no idea what the big circles are. ive read at several places online that you should have a plan for this con on where to go and what to do... but without a catalog and it being a first time and all, i guess the best i can hope to do is just keep walking along?
12-20-2008, 07:59 AM
The catalogs are more than one thousand pages so finding scans is unlikely...you can pick up a catalog around town though; just about any anime shop sells them. Try Mandarake or Animate.
is there atleast a list of circles that will be there?
12-20-2008, 09:43 PM
I haven't found a list yet. ^^; But it must be long since this major event only occurs twice a year. One way is to pick out the circles you like and look on their site to see if they're going and hopefully it'll list where they'll be located. It should be located under their news or events section.
12-21-2008, 11:01 AM
There is something like 10,000 circles going to be there. >.>; The list actually comprises over 1,000 pages of the catalogue.
I think I will go at 10 o'clock after all, so, Hikari_birdy will you be meeting people at the statue?
up kinda late arent ya? : )
if everyone meets up at a certain time, count me in ^^
12-21-2008, 10:57 PM
Hey sorry I had a bit of internet trouble ~.~;
OK I was planing to meet with silentdeath on the train but if more people are coming I'm willing to wait at the statue (Girl with hat Mac Do.) but not for to long, I hate waiting and seeing all the other people get in line T_T but it would be much nicer to have someone to wait with, so I will be at the statue till 10:10 am.
I hope you are all clear to at least plan in 20 more min. to to normal time you will need there.
If it is not to full I hope I will be there from 9:50 am. So the earlier someone joins me the happier I will be ^.^
I will also have the Catalogue from that day with me (I cut it apart) so you can have a look while waiting, that works pritty well I allways do that at the Comic Citys, kills time ^.~
So everyone who wants to come at 10 and meet speak up su that we (I) will know for how many of you to wait.
silentdeath: Because of the others joining lets meet at the statue too.
I should be checking the thread every day now, so lets just write here.
if anyone wants to just chat and share my excitement
my aim is neianuyh and my msn is firstname.lastname@example.org
itd be awesome to go as a bigger random group ^____^
hey, for clarifications sake, where exactly is the meet up again? what station do i go to and is the statue blatantly obvious?
12-22-2008, 08:15 AM
I will be there at 10. Headed off to Tokyo right now actually! See you guys in a couple days!
12-22-2008, 08:12 PM
aien: For Big Sight you normaly use Kokusaitenjijo, but there is also a station called Ariake that is right next to the Station the Rinkai Line users would take
The Ariake Station (Yurikamome) and the Kokusaitenjijo Station (Rinkai) are just about 100m apart
This is the link for a map I drawed, it is not good but will show you on witch side the Statue is.
If you walk with the crowd keep to the left and you will see a bilding after the round street, Mac Do is easily seen and when you are closer you can see the Girl too.
yea ive been on google maps and looking at my metro map planning routes and stuff... im coming from taito ward, so its kinda far...
so the meet up place is going to be inbetween kokusaitenjijo and ariake, correct? mac do is mcdonalds? o_o;;

No it is on the way to Big Sight, please take a look at the map I gave the link for the red point is where the statue is. And yeah I call Mc Dondals Mac Do from the greman way of saing Mac Doof.
roger, the picture is kinda small and hard to see, but i think i got it now... the trail going away from kokusaitenjijo right?

I will be there before 10am...because I'm certainly going to get lost (in cosplay no less) and will be wandering there to greet you all. ^.^ Are there more then one gate (north, south, east, west) in the Kokusai-Tenjijo station? Of course, I'm going to assume it's the south gate but just so....
Thx for the directions and maps, Hikari_birdy!
BTW, Happy holidays, everyone! ^.^

Kokusaitenjijo has just one gate and Mac Do is in the bilding you see on the other side of the round road when you get out. Just turn right for a few steps and then walk along the side of the round road (it is more like a bus teminal but there aren't many buses, so I don't really know what it is for.)

It's worth pointing out that there is ANOTHER McDonalds, in the shopping centre, across the street from the station. Be sure you get the right one. :P

Agggh last minute panic. XD
I went to like eight shops in the past four days trying to find a wig for my costume! I completely didn't have any luck getting it before I left and foolishly thought, "Hm, Tokyo, I'm sure there are like six places on every block in Akiba." Silly me. Well, now I've got one, so crisis averted, maybe. XD

Hi, I'm a Japanese. And I have some advices to visit Comiket.
Ariake district is very crowded while Comiket held.
So, you may meet at the front of TFT building.
12-27-2008, 03:43 AM
Thanks but I can't think of a point small enough to meet at there. I think even with many people around, I will be easily sotted when I'm by the Statue. And it is by the entrance for McDonalds so it will be keept free form the line.
I will leave my hair open I'm blond and 180cm, I don't think there will be an other girl near there looking like that ^^.
So the people coming for meeting are: Izumimon, aien, silentdeath and me?
OK see you tomorrw at 10am.
PS my cell mail is firstname.lastname@example.org

Hope you all had fun. :)
I took absolutely no photos, so I may head back tomorrow, haha. No money left, though. T_T

Today I went without my costume and I took about 100 photos in about 60 minutes...
The new cosplay space is sure less convenient than the former one and it was terribly crowded.
Tomorrow I should be wearing my Selphie costume (I've seen no non-japanese cosplaying today, but the place was so crowded I sure have missed a lot of costumes) but I don't think I'll come before 12.
well thats the end, lots of pictures taken, probably take ages to upload them all.
glad to see some of you people out there ^^
today there were some foreigners cosplaying a light and darth vader and card captor sakura? not sure, lol. i didnt have a camera today so i just browsed around : (
comiket sure is crazy if you arent prepared for it, but its been pretty fun!
thanks for all the help hikari and izu ^^

It was lots of fun meeting you guys! Many thanks to izumi and Hikari_birdy for the organization and info. Comiket is awesome and I can't wait for the summer one. ^-^ Hope to see you again!

I'll probably be back in summer too. ^^ I was able to meet some nice people in the fandom, so I make have to make this a regular event!
01-17-2009, 03:30 PM
Yea, it was pretty packed but i did manage so see some nice costume.
Do you know the date for the summer comiket?
01-17-2009, 04:16 PM
Unfortunately obligations came up on Sunday so I wasn't able to make the first day, but did the other two.
The Summer dates probably won't be up for a few months. Maybe around March. There is typically a several month delay between the event and the posting of the next one. But it's typically in Mid-August.
Hopefully Wonder Festival gets revived as planned. It is usually held at the Tokyo Bigsite the Sunday before Comiket, but there was an elevator accident at last summer's and it prompted the cancelling of this winter's event and caused the cosplay areas at Comiket to be moved.
