I'm thinking of doing a photoshoot for the Castlevania cosplays of my boyfriend and I. I live in the Chicago area, and was wondering if anyone had any location suggestions? I'm not too familiar with what is out there.

A big cathedral-style church would work well if you can catch one empty (and you may want to ask in advance). Just beware of very dim lighting conditions inside.

a cemetary? one with monuments. they're usually old. that would be cool.

My favorite places:
Bachelor's Grove Cemetery (abandoned and very haunted) - down by Midway Airport
Chicago Botanic Gardens - Deerfield http://www.chicago-botanic.org/

What area of town are you in? I can find more places based on this?

Hyde Park Uunversity of Chicago, Rockerfeller Chapel is a good place. Not too far away is
Museum of Science and Industry. The garden in the rear is nice, as is the park there.
There are literally hundreds of places to shoot.

I'm near Wrigley. I might head up to Irving Park Rd to that big cemetery.

Thanks for all the ideas so far!!

Since that cemetery is still in use, I'd get in contact with their head office before doing anything. People tend to get edgy if their family is disturbed without permission...especially by vampires. Chicago. lulz.

here is my process.

google whatever you want. (AKA "mountain")
take those google suggestions and plug them into flickr.
take whatever you like out of them and put them into google maps for transportation.

Good luck!

How about the Golden Gate Bridge?

highroller: Because murakai is about 2000 miles east lol.

murakai: Now that we're all being graced by snow, (SNOW D:<) you could even go out to the lake and get shots with the ice shelves...or if you're willing to head on into Indiana, there's a family plot over by Chelberg Farm in Porter that's been designated historical, so you won't piss anyone off by using it. There's a trail leading up to it that's covered in bridges that cut through a little gorge..which is also lovely.

Here's some shots of the plot:

Totally love it. I personally think it's just slightly haunted, but if you say hello and goodbye to the family buried there, it's a VERY nice place to spend time at.
