Hi everyone! First let me apologize because I cant for the life of me figure out why my pics wont show???? I have no idea how to enable the photo upload as it seems to be disabled. Any suggestions here would be awesome and greatly appreciated.

Anyway, been working on this one on and off for some time now.

It's of a video game character called Solid Snake. It'll be a full body suit cast in silicone, sculpted from the neck to the wrists and down to the ankles.
I also didnt realize the popularity of the character until now either...I dont play video games so I'm kinda clueless to these guys outside of the artwork..so please go easy on me.
This is the costume artwork..

And this is the WIP...Still rather rough...but I think you get the idea...The straps are just there for sake of proportions while I'm roughing it all out. They'll be replaced once the base work is done.

Look closely and you can see the carbon fiber texture I'm going to be using for the vest...and please dont mind the messy floor...I'm working on that...slowly....

In some respects the hard part is over...but there's still a bit to go here. I havent decided how the wearer will access the suit yet, and I'm toying with something for the back. We'll see. At first I wanted a two piece suit but now I've decided on it being a one piece jumpsuit. I suppose the sculpt and form made that decision for me. :)

My clay of choice, as always is Chavant NSP Soft Green color. Awesome stuff.

More to come...:)

Hey David! I've seen your work over at The Hunter's Lair before and I'm a fan of your studio work in various movies. I can't wait to see how this new piece comes along (And especially to see just how somebody's going to get into it!)

Hey David, how's it going? It's looking super so far. You might want to post this in the Metal Gear thread too, since it's the board for the game series Solid Snake appears in. They'll love this! But hey, something this awesome really deserves a thread all its own anyway :)

Oh, and maybe the Smash Bros forum as well since Solid Snake wears this suit in the Wii version of that game.

Also, it's really hard to get pictures to show up in a thread on this website, so I wouldn't worry about it. I believe the mods discourage it and would disable them anyway.

As a special effects artist i have to say great work. I know doing a full body cast expecially out of body double or any silicone for that matter is expensive. Now did you guys do a core cast or did u do a full body life cast without putting anything between the cast and the material you used to sculpt on. Also good choice on the cavant soft, thats the stuff i use. Cant wait the see it molded and casted.
