View Full Version : Kuroshitsuji : Grell's Glasses

So, searching around has proven a bit of a failure for me, unless I want to go back to my optometrist and shovel out around $135 for a pair.. Anyone have any websites online that sell glasses resembling his? Especially one's that sell with either a lack-of-lens or non-prescription.. I'll even take one's that look like his in shape (colour can always be customized).

Second question: Do we have a good scan with the beads he has attached to the glasses? :/ All I have are really low-quality and it's kinda frustrating trying to craft the skulls and find the beads with scans like that...

Thanks for the help, guys!

EBay is your best friend :)
I've since found a pair so I deleted the links, but I found at least 3 very close matches in reading glasses (and the lenses in plastic-framed reading glasses are notoriously easy to pop out).

I ended up going with this FABULOUS pair of candy apple red glitter frames, but the other ones were very close (and under $15 shipped)

I got a pair of reading glasses at dollar tree and had my dad pop the lenses out (he had to drill through them so the frame wouldn't get damaged), along with a chain and plastic skull rings, which are easy to find around Halloween. I colored the skulls with a silver sharpie and cut off the ring part then hot glued them to the chain. It only cost $3. ;D

I have glasses similar to his, so I just paint mine with nail polish. but while out shopping, I've seen some like his at Claire's in 2 different malls. they're all nonperscription. if you have a Claire's where you live, I'd check there.

I just got a pair of reading glasses from Walmart. They worked perfectly. :)
The chain I made myself.

If anyone reading this is like me, reading glasses or those cheap ones from Claire's won't work because you have such poor vision you need a prescription pair of lenses to not fall down stairs.

I get all of my glasses from: http://www.zennioptical.com
My whole family gets glasses from the $8-$10 sections. They are quality glasses and it's only $7 shipping no matter how much you buy!
There are hundreds of frames and a lot of them come in some crazy colors like Grell's cherry red.

You can also buy them NON-PRESCRIPTION by leaving all the fields blank when you order.

I bought my chain from http://www.etsy.com/listing/19753980/crimson-skull-eyeglass-chain-a-la-grell. She shipped it out pretty quickly, I got it within a week I think. It looks so good, too!!! I was very pleased with it :3

I just took an old pair of sunglasses I don't use, bent them into a reading-glasses shape, painted them red, and put a clear-coat of nail polish on them

I found great pair of red reading glasses and the chain for $2, both at the dollar store. The glasses were VERY close to that of Grell's. As was the chain. Maybe it's a good idea to check your local dollar store (I found mine at Dollar Tree) and see if you have any luck.! Good Luck.! :D

Heres a pic for future references for the chain. :)
