Since Terminator is getting pretty big (SCC/Salvation) I thought I'd do a Cameron Phillips cosplay for SDCC. It's basically a closet cosplay(I have clothes EXACTLY like everything she wears anyway) aside from possibly some prosthetics.
I was thinking these:stitches! (http://www.mooncostumes.com/item/11997)
for doing this: Cameron is brok'd (http://virgin1.virginmedia.com/images/SCCseason2_image4.jpg)

I was wondering if anyone else was doing any Terminator-related cosplays in the near future? Terminator can never get enough love!

Aww, thanks!
Seriously, how can you NOT love Cam? She's so great.

That's so awesome!

There's a huge gathering for the new movie permier and I wsa thinking because I just dyed my hair the same color as going as Ms. Weaver. I just need a white pencil skirt suit. I just dunno if anyone will get it...

But Cameron is the best! I hope I see you at SDCC dressed as her.

Yes! I'll be going as Cameron for one of the days at SDCC too! I've been working on a prosthetic for it, here's a pic so far:terminator prosthetic. (http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs006.snc1/2509_1069673346967_1380090001_30155431_8319726_n.j pg) Er ... not the best pic of me, and it's a very basic application, not enough blood and wounds on the rest of the face (this thing takes forever to put on!) Still need to get a slightly better top for her outfit ...

Do you know if there's going to be any sort of gathering at SDCC?

WOW! Yours is really cool. I'm really not that skilled so I went for something easy. As for a gathering, I JUST started a thread. Gathering thread here! (http://www.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=178239)

We should totally take pictures together, we'll be awesome!

hahah,I also see you're going to be a Dalek! I was thiiiiiiiiis close to making a Dalek dress because my friend is going as a Tardis. I think this means we are bizarro versions of each other or something cause that's just far too coincidental!

Oh my god, Shirley Manson FTW. I think you'd make an awesome Ms. Weaver! If you can find the outfit, I 100% support you! hahahaha

Wow E. Hyde, that loosk amazing so far! I can see what you were saying about more blood and wounds, but I think when it's all done, it'll be the best I've seen. I try to do those prothetics cause I've just never seen them turn out well.

Thanks Otaku! She's my favorite. I even totally predicted what happened to her character at the end of this season (won't say it cause I don't want to spoil it). I don't think I'll have time to do her at SDCC, but if I do find a good outfit, I'll bring it with me just in case. My hotel isn't far and maybe I can Clark Kent it make it in time for the gathering.

I also just saw a new trailer for T4 and saw his wife and she looks a lot like me, even wears her hair the same and it's same cut. AFter I see the movie, I might decide to be her.

Thanks! I was actually thinking about putting together a tutorial for the prosthetic, it's easier than it looks.

Lady Skywalker, were you considering sewing something for Ms Weaver? I was looking around the Vogue pattern site and there's a lot of stuff there that would work for her ... my personal favorite being this dress. (http://www.voguepatterns.com/item/V8280.htm) Not a replica of anything she wears in the show, but I could totally see her wearing it.

That is so pretty E. But I'm actually not gonna sew anything for this. This isn't gonna be a big deal costume for me. I'm really only doing it for the premier and if I just happen to find something good, then I'll bring it to SDCC. But SDCC for me is all about Iron Man and I'm doing Pepper Potts costumes (including her armor) which will tak up most of my time and resources.

If you are looking for Terminators at the 2009 San Diego Comic-Con, then you you will find us out on the main floor between 11 AM and 6 PM on Saturday, July 25th. There will be a T800, T1000, a T-X Terminatrix (ala T3), a time traveling resistance fighter (think Blair Williams T4 ), and an unnamed very wacked out cyborg that may or may not be working with Skynet. We hope to see Camerons, Weavers, and maybe a Sarah Conner???? Join us and our photographer for a great time.

I'm not doing any Terminator cosplay this year, but it was actually the first costume I ever did on my own! I support any and all Terminator costumes though and all of the rockin people who decide to wear them. Heh, I even picked my motorcycle, a Harley Davidson Fat Boy, because it's what Arnold rode in Terminator 2. XD I figured I might be able to share a little bit of my Terminator stuff here just in case anybody is on a budget.

I did this for my high school drama club banquet. I was like... seventeen? eighteen? in this photo. I cut apart some Mountain Dew cans and used the shiny part of the metal to make "wounds" in my skin by placing it in "scar tissue" moldable flesh stuff and then using blood gel on the edges to make it look fresh. My main issue with this was that I didn't allow the aluminum to obtain the proper shape. It needs to be bent so that it will fit the contour of your face, so that will take a bit of work. You'll notice that mine is coming off a little bit because I figured this out a bit too late. All in all, if somebody wants to be a T-800 and doesn't have a lot of money to spend: A jacket, sunglasses, hairspray, little scar tissue packet, and a soda can. Instant awesome.

Well done, SpartanNinja! This will be our fifth year of doing costumes at the SDCCI. Every year, we try to expand our efforts. Anyone at this site that is going to the Con, will know us most likely because our T800 has a minigun.

Okay, I broke down and got a haircut ... like 1920s style. I'm still going to wear the terminator makeup, but I'm not sure I should still try to be Cameron, or just be an anonymous evil terminator. What do you guys think?

Well, you could either opt for a wig to be Cameron, or just be an anonymous terminator like you said. Either would be REALLY cool in my opinion, so whatever you feel more comfortable doing is what you should go with.

I think I'll just be an anonymous terminator, I don't really want to wear a wig along with that much makeup ... Hmm, this may change what clothes I wear with the costume, too ...

if you decide to make the half terminator and half face I can help you with knowing how to make that. On my side of things I am thinking about making a terminator outfit making it so that the exosceleton fits over my person.

A full exoskeleton would be really neat, I'd like to see that! I've got the face prosthetic pretty much done, but thanks for the offer. Have you done a lot of that sort of thing? I'm finding I really enjoy doing that sort of stage makeup effect, and learning more from people who've done it is always nice...

I've got about 6 years of prosthetic experience, and another 8 in armor and costume assembly, to do the kind of task I will be trying to undertake it will mean putting myself in a full body cast, a whole lot of clay and silicone and a whole lot of fiberglass resin I have two Terminator Latex prosthetic side faces that I have made one of them with the famous red eye that I have made to where it lights up, the power source on that is tricky but can be done with the right expertise.

Okay, well, now I'm pondering not doing Cameron for Preview Night, but I REALLY want to, so we'll see how all of my other costumes pan out.
I was thinking I'd use this (http://www.hauntedprops.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=5439) instead of the other thing I posted if I still wanted to do the "Samson and Delilah" episode look.
Or I was thinking maybe getting some of these: 1 (http://www.costumeandpropshop.com/detail/RB-19792.html),2 (http://www.costumeandpropshop.com/detail/CS-WO329.html),3 (http://www.costumeandpropshop.com/detail/RB-19791.html),4 (http://www.costumeandpropshop.com/detail/CS-WO323.html) and doing this (http://www.fox.com/terminator/_media/wallpaper/1024x768/1024x768_wallpaper_1.jpg). Any suggestions? I just <3 T:SCC and I feel it needs some good cosplay to make up for the fact such an awesome show was canceled!

yeah, that's why i hesitate a little. Not sure if any of my SDCC companions are skilled in the ways of spirit gum and liquid latex. hahaha but I do think that might be kind of a cool thing to do.

I was contemplating recreating the jacket Marcus Wright wears in the final scene of Terminator Salvation, but I don't really have any ideas for a base jacket pattern (I've never made a jacket before, or anything like it). Does any one have any ideas based off of this picture? I appreciate the help!

my boyfriend is working on John connor and some friends of mine are doing resistence fighters, or as they call them tactical hobos.

we were gonna attempt to make our very tall friend be either marcus or a T600 but we don't even know where to begin with the prosthesis

Can't believe I hadn't spotted this thread *Falls over*

I deffinatly would love to see some more Terminator people - I have been contemplating about doing one, though most likely won't occur this year. If it happens it would possibly be the young Kyle Reese.

Tactical hobos...now that is just too cute.

They are very professional...I bought the advanced kit last year and it was fantastic! Of course the one with the LED eye is more expensive, but it was worth it...I won first place in a costume contest. The kit comes with everything you need to put it on. I highly recommend it.

I've used these for a great looking injured Terminator costume.

http://fxtattoo.com/cyborgtattoos.php

These cyborg tattoos are great! The silver is actually shiny. High quality effect with only about 3 minutes of prep time. :)

I'm thinking of using one of their other tattoos, the reptile skin, to do an injured soldier from the TV show V.

*Has been absent from Cos.com for a while thanks to... cons and sewing, ironically*

This thread just completely made my day. <3 At any rate, it's great to see Cameron getting some love; I've also been seriously considering adding her to my suddenly vacant cosplay list. XD And yes, I've also considered the T-X, as we're much closer in complexion, but I guess I'll wait and see what works out. ^^;; My next comic/sci-fi con isn't until 2011, so I've got lots of time. :P
