Hey everyone! I need a little help on my next cosplay I will be starting very soon.
I plan on going as Arachne from Soul Eater. I have the dress pattern a set and some of the smaller details sorted but Im having a few other problems.

- How do I go about attempting the gathering at the bottom of the dress?
- What type of fabric would hold that shape, and not be so clingy and wrinkle?
- Is the back piece a bow or just two arm like pieces?

I have some pictures below to help with the Visuals, any help will be love! Thanks!

well you don't have to make it exactly like the Pict have you allready made the hands on the sleavs because the arch on the back is that of a spiders thorax so you sow a plastic peace on the back and and add a peace of cloth to it so it looks like a fan and it almost raps around your back I would suggest that you make the hands outline and then fill them with coten because most people don't do that at all I've allready made this costume for my frend and it turened out perfict any questions ask me at any time

I was thinking off using taffeta for the dress. I think it will have the right weight. As far as the tucks, there are a lot of patterns for gowns that have little tucks in the skirt so looking @ the directions for those would be helpful. Last but not least. I think that in the manga (I haven't gotten to her part in the anime) it looks to me that its a wrap & not just sleeve pieces.

Thank you so much! I am however still having trouble figuring out the back. Beacuse she has some sort of spider but and I can figure it out!

when i searched for Arachne, there's this post already, so I think keep using this post would be a good way to go. (even tho this thread was posted a year ago)

i plan to do her for Oct. i'm only ok with sewing when there's pattern paper. just wondering those have done her before, what did you used?
