I'm also very interested in figuring out how to do Rachel-Alucard's umbrella..

I have everything else worked out except the darn umbrella =(...

If anyone has any tips or ideas would greatly appreciate it. TBH doesn't even matter if it doesn't close, can prolly work some kinda detachable handle lol..

haha i love rachell~! so cutee~ <3

an idea i have is that~~ probably make the cat head and paw as a separate part from the umbrellla? Like for example make the cat head and paw like a huge plushie, and then for pictures, u can have it attached to the umbrella with snaps or buttons? so like have the plushie cat head/paw have snaps or buttons that can snap on or button onto the umbrella? that way when u fold up ur umbrella, you dont have to compact the cat head and just remove it for convenience! >__<;;; and for the tail part, just make like a sock like thing with stuffing at end, and just cover the stick O_o? i dont know if this makes any sense at all... =w=a

thats what i had in mind when i wanted to do rachel cosplay XD but im too poor right now >_>;

Thats actually a very good idea lol..

It still seems like a bit of a challenge but much better than the ideas I came up with! I might give it a try ;).

What about a spherical form, like half of a big beach ball, covered in fabric? Then like MisChibiOus mentioned, make it detachable with snaps or maybe velcro.

I believe you could get an umbrella with a small peak. You could then add another layer of streachy fabric of the top and add any other parts you need.

Think I'm gonna go with the detachable head/paw with velcro!

Like to thank you all for the great ideas(even though I'm not the TC) lol, couldn't have done this without ya ;).

I actually just completed mine not that long ago. I explained how to do it on my V-Log just an hour ago. XD It might help anyone who is having trouble in the future!
