View Full Version : Dead Forum Much?

Hey y'all, sorry I haven't been around in so long. But I just got a brand spanking new laptop so I should be around quite a bit more often now. Looking around though, it doesn't appear as if I've been missing much. I mean, seriously, last post June 1st? The the next newest one before that sometime in April? Are you kidding me? I can only hope that the reason you all are so inactive right now is that it is now pretty much convention season and you are all hard at work doing costumes and stuff. I hope that is the case (much more than I can say for myself. CURSE YOU BROKEN SEWING MACHINE!!!) Anyway, I'd love to catch up with you all whenever you happen to be online. Hope to see you all at JAFAX this year as well. Feel free to email me or add me on MSN Messenger (both use the same address) if you feel like chatting sometime. mentalstrike@gmail.com waits for people to talk to. :P Hope to hear from somebody here soon. I'm just gonna go around and learn new cosplay stuff now xD Talk to you all later.

EDIT: Holy crap, I sound like an irate mod, sorry for that
EDIT pt2: Oh, noticed a June 16th reply...getting warmer I guess...

I think many Michiganders are still here, but are busy busy sewing. I am sorry your machine is broke. I almost broke mine the other day and was going to burst into tears. I have to have a costume finished by this Saturday. Still doesn't even have its hems done. Good luck with the new lap top though!

Hey thanks! And it's good to know that my suspicions were correct. Would I also be correct in assuming that I'll be seeing a lot of you at JAFAX in a few hours? I hope so, no way to really tell at this point >_< As for me, I'm not sure about my costume, because I have it all together, sort of, but it requires me to shave my mustache off and I really hate doing that....I feel it makes me look semi-moderately retar....*ahem* stupid looking. If I go in costume, however, it will be some cat dude from the show my older sis is currently obsessed with, Darker than Black. I think she said it's name was Mao or something of the sort. Well, see some of y'all tomorrow!

Oh noes!! Flagstar, why must you fail me now?! Apparently, giving them my money has made them wish to keep it. I *apparently* am only allowed to access a third of the money in my account. Which sucks cuz I was totally planning on blowing most of it at JAFAX this year...:'(

Well, you'd be right in your assumption that this particular forum is more or less, kaput. Most of the people in here are still online, mind you, but given that the lions share of them are YoumaCon staffers & attendees, they're mostly posting threads there...

I have been busy with school and Hockey. I haven't really even had time for a new costume this year. I hope to make one for Youmacon.

bar1 hit it right on the head. I log into this site every day, but I really only look at the forums for the specific cons I'm going to. A lot of us are still around, but just really busy with other things.

Perchance maybe then, it time for us to all organize a gathering or something, as we all haven't really done any this year. We have usually done a few things outside of ACEN by now... and you figure, its now summer, so those who are in school are more or less out, hockey seasons over (at least for the Wings)...perhaps we can all start looking at planning a barbecue or two, maybe go spend a day at the Zoo, or Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. Also the Ren Fest is also around the corner as well, maybe we should all thing of a weekend to go and gather at that... I men I know about the only weekend of the Ren Fest I won't be available is the weekend of Sept 18, as I'll be in Atlanta for AWA, likely squeeing over Troy Baker...XD.

Don't know about you guys, but I'm looking to get together with everyone, since I haven't seen some of you for a while...

Been way too busy trying to keep the juggling act going... To many balls in the air.

xD wow, interesting. It seems that the best revival spell is to call something dead. And I will probably start visiting the Youmancon forums then. I hope to go this year, but I live on the other side of the state, so travel may end up being an issue. I plan to have my lisence by then though, so maybe not...

;-; You guys are all lucky, you know how to sew, and you get to go to youmacon. D<
I live all the way in muskegon, and I have no idea how to make anything cosplay related, except a gaara gord. ;-;..
I can't even operate a sewing machine.

Don't be so hard on yourself- everything (and everyone) takes time to learn. :toothy: I think it would be hard to make a Gaara Gord. I'm still learning new stuff everyday. I started with smaller props and easier pieces to sew. My machine is almost ancient according to today's standards- there is even a short in the cord that gets really annoying. . .
Anyway, I'm around. . .
