View Full Version : How would I go about modifying, or making a Suit Coat for an Ouran HS jacket?

I'm gonna be Kyoya. :P I'd just like to know the best approach to making the uniform. I have the shoes, the undershirt, tie and pants. I just need the coat. :sulk:

Would I modify an existing coat? I was thinking I could get a lot of powder blue fabric, and just a general suit coat, and sew the fabric taught over the coat. Would that work?

Or would I be able to find a white one, and dye it?

And I'm sure I could make my own ouran patch right?

It's possible, depending on the coat you start with. Many people have found suit coats to buy that are fairly close. If you are new to sewing, that's probably your best bet. You can ask in this thread for recommendations:

Well, no - not very well. You could tear apart an old suit coat to use as a pattern though making a suit coat from scratch is actually pretty difficult.

Well, probably no. Most suit coats are dry clean only due to the variety of materials in the interior. Immersion and agitation in a dye bath would ruin it.

Yes, though I believe that you can buy them fairly cheaply on ebay. Just google "Ouran Host patch".

Kohl's has a two button that works fine:

About three months ago they were discounted to about $60. If you keep checking back they rotate their discounts around every few weeks.
