Explanation: A few months back, I really wanted to cosplay as a Pyro, but I couldn't find the suit or the Gas Mask that he wears, so I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me find it.

Thank you in advance.

We just recently (by "we" I mean my stepdad and I) started a Pyro costume. We're currently in the searching stages. But we seem to have figured out a couple things-

One. The closest gas mask we've found is this one-
I don't remember the exact name of the model. I'm sure there are ones a bit more accurate, but it's hard to get one that's perfect. (http://cgi.ebay.com/Russian-black-rubber-gas-mask-lot-of-10_W0QQitemZ220300009755QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_Defa ultDomain_0?hash=item334ae7611b&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14)

Two. You can either make the jumpsuit from scratch, or alter a costume with a jumpsuit. I'm being picky, so I'm making the jumpsuit in its entirety. Thus, I can't be of much help in trying to find one to buy.

There's a TF2 thread floating around here though. I think that may be a better place to get more specific answers. xD

Not a whole lot of replys. Hopefully this is still relevant. >.>

Me and the boyfriend plan on doing pyro cosplays as well. I'm also in the searching phase but I've managed to find just about every part of the main costume.

Suit

Figured we'd just cut the hood off and it should be about the right texture but it may be too light weight. I dunno what you'd do for red team. Most people seem to just use red coveralls. Google it and I'm sure you'll find some. They aren't the texture but if you're not too picky it shouldn't be a problem.

The mask wolfspecter suggested could work. But being a stickler for detail I plan on making my own using rubber sheets (like intertubes), ventilator (http://www.amazon.com/AO-Safety-95190-Woodworkers-Respirator/dp/B0000BYE9Q/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&s=industrial&qid=1245653351&sr=8-11), and welding goggles (http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=welding+goggles&show=dd&cid=13429047300113817821&sa=title#p)

Hopefully this helps.

You are in luck my friend. just recently ive completed my Pyro Costume for our last day of Sixth Form. heres a pic attached with the top hat option. i got the gas mask from an army surplus shop in Newcastle and the jumpsuit is actually a welding boiler suit from rswww.com or was it bestinthecountry.co.uk? the flamethrower is purposly out of porportion and theres my fireaxe hanging from my waist at the right of me. the boots are simply wellingtons with steel caps and toes protectors (which come in useful when idiots make fun of you).
the gas masks are russion standard dog masks and would need a bit of modding to get right. the only problem is that they come in grey from the surplus shops so you would have to go to a latex website to get a black one (i was too scared to do this so stuck to painting it with liquid latex which worked ok)

Hope this helps:bigtu:
