Alo everyone~

After my very successful costuming at Otakon this year, I am ready to plan future costumes! My friend and I have just started watching angelic layer and boy do we love it @_@.

At any rate she wants to cosplay hikaru and im gunna do blanche. SO if any of you guys have pics of any angelic layer cosplay you may have done, I'd love to see them ^^, and also if anyone has tips, especially on how we might go about making the flared doll-like boot covers, hikarus head piece and armor, or blanche's hat, we'd really really appreciate it!

and for any of you who have trouble remembering what the little angels look like, heres a link to a very nice italian site with quite a number of pictures:

thanks so much!

i think you should go as tamayo if you want to~ me and my friend think shes the best because she threatens the other girls who are mean to misakichi ^^

maybe you two can meet up with another cosplayer who wants to be misakichi and you can all take cute pictures together!

I was supposed to have been part of the Otakon Angelic Layer group that had Wizard, Ranga, Shirahime, and Icchan in it. Our Mao, Hikaru, and Blanche (me) dropped out for various reasons, but I do have pics of the other costumes that may help. I worked on Blanche's hat enough to know you'll want a light weight foam that you can cut or carve into the shape to place inside of it, and use a cheap headband to hold it in place under it all. Use craft foam sheets, the thin type you can get in the paper aisles to hold the shape of the flared legs under fabric. Works very well.

I cosplayed Hikaru from Angelic Layer for Metrocon.

The idea came to me in a dream, but it was inspired by a friend doing Hikaru the year before. Of course, my costume is simpler in its materials, but it is still quite accurate. It is not missing any components- I even have the cables attached to the headgear. If you need any tips, just let me know.

I did this as one of my first cosplays. (second con I went to, pretty much.)
Like Celes said...craft foam did WONDERS for me on this outfit. And I don't know what possessed me to work with Vinyl, but it managed to turn out alright.
