Let's start a food thread.

I'll bring 3 big bags of Marshmallows and a few boxes of Graham crackers~!

=O For those people who are spending the night, should we plan on bringing our own breakfasts....that is to say, how many meals does this food thread cover? ^__^

Substantial food is needed as well. Does anyone plan to bring supplies for sandwiches or something of the sort?
Though I will not deny that s'mores and cookies are scrumptious.
08-16-2003, 10:28 PM
I can bring gatorade and bottled water.
08-19-2003, 12:57 AM
hmmm I could bring lots of free ice cream if i can figure out how to get it there, and i shall bring drinks and snacks as well.
08-19-2003, 01:11 AM
I'm thinking anyone who comes for the entire span of the event (2pm Sat thru 1pm Sun) will want to have at least the following:
Snacks for evening
Breakfast for morning
enough to drink for the timespan (water, soda, whatever).
I do suggest everyone eat something prior to coming so that we can go straight to doing photos, as we might not be next to the campsites while doing them.
If everyone wants to plan something in advance we can easily all go in on things like lunchmeat, hot dogs, bread, etc. and all just pitch in for it at the campout.

I don't know what I'm brining other than an extra cooler and tons of Squirt for me. I'll figure it out when people start figuring out what they want.

I've got a big cooler . I could bring hot dogs and ketchup and all that junk and some drinks.

Well I live right there. If my mom lets me use her old bbq I can bring a hibachi bbq so we can cook burgers and what not. It would be bring your own meat of course. but I can supply charcoal and a BBQ, maybe. I will know by tomorrow.

Thanks for the offer tydawgsd, however I have to ask everyone not to bring anything like that as the campground has rules forbidding anything fire-wise outside of the designated fire pits. Everything else is considered a fire hazard.
08-25-2003, 07:36 PM
so things like hotdogs are okay as long as we cook em over the fire pits?
08-25-2003, 07:49 PM
yep everything is fine to cook, we just have to cook it in the designated firepits.
08-25-2003, 10:26 PM
i can bring lots of pineapple pizza ^_^ yummy. . .*drools*

Since we are bringing marshmellows, how about everybody bring their OWN wire hanger? Sound good? I only have two.. my mom always gets plastic hangers. That would cover me and my uncle.
If anyone has a small bundle of wire hangers or wires of some sort, bring 'em! lol!
Oh! And also you can cook hot dogs over fire pits very easily. I don't want to commit myself to that just yet, but I'll talk it over with my uncle and see if we can bring something.
Aiyah. Sorry I didn't commit to anything in this post. I just had ideas and wanted to remind people to bring hangers. Otherwise the marshmallows are pointless.. lol..

Is there anything people need in specific? I'm kinda clueless on what to bring. If not, I'll end up bringing bottled water or something. :/
08-28-2003, 02:37 AM
I'm bringing drinks (the usual... clear, noncaffeinated drinks like water or Sprite). I figure that drinks are more important than food, anyway. :P

I guess its another random shopping at Abertsons again. I'll probably bring some unhealthy, overly sugary type of foods. Or i'll just let Kusangi bring all the food i'll consume. Choices choices.

Confirmed food: I talked to my uncle and we are bringing three hot dog packages (8 each I think?) and three bun packages. He knows there is a lot of people coming and he doesn't think he can feed you all... lol! That feeds at least half I think yes? Somebody else can help bring condements and more dogs for the rest of us.
Don't forget your wires for the fire pit!!! lol...
Unconfirmed- Random junk food. :P lol!
Edit: By the way, what are the fire pits like? My uncle wants to bring a little stove thingy (forgot the name already) that he says SHOULD be safe. He's double checking with the campground though just in case it's not. It's not a barbeque or anything and he says if need be in can just be set, like, inside the fire pit.... what are the specifics on that?
My uncles a camping nut. When he heard the word camping he agreed before I finished my plea arguement.. lol... he's comin' pretty prepared. ;) lol..
LOL well I shall bring some breakfast stuff then...or can I volunteer to make a doughnut run in the morning? Kyle do you have any idea if there would be a doughnut place near there?
