Ok I just made an account cause I need some help with this one.
I am going to go as Emperor Doviculus for 2010 ACEN And I have some question that I need a answering.

One, spirit gum? If I made the spikes that pop out of his body will spirit gum hold them or is it not strong enough?

Two, He is WHITE like real white. For his body I was just going to paint my body white(this also leads me to another question) I have been told that I should get a skin tight under armor shirt and just paint that but I don't own a airbrush and don't plan on getting one. This one right now is the one I am struggling over the most.

Three, If I paint myself white, what stuff should I use because I don't want everything I bum into or touch to me smudged white. So I need some body paint that wont get all over the place.

Other then that I pretty much have everything worked out how I am going to do it, but if I could get those questions answered then I would be goooooood tooooo goooooohttp://static.cosplay.com/images/smilies/2/shocked.gif

Noooo. Spirit gum isn't strong enough to hold spikes that stick out like that at all. I recommend using a white bodysuit or something of that sort, (like what stockings are made of?) or sewing a shirt like it and usings gloves. As for the spikes, you might want to find a way to hook them into the shirt, or sew them on, that is if you use the suggestion. Otherwise, I don't know how you'd get them to stay unless you hot glued yourself. . Which I don't recommend.

Thank you very much I need to find the tightest spandex shirt every, And The hot glue wouldn't work when the glue hardens it would just fall off, =( I am used to suffering for my cosplay
Do u think this (http://www.walgreens.com/store/catalog/Workout-Accessories/Standard-Long-Sleeve-Full-T-Shirt-White/ID=prod1687648&navCount=1&navAction=push-product?V=G&ec=frgl_507115&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=sku1687635) would be tight enough? I would still have to try and paint and shade it.

Hello ^_^

I'm looking for a little help with a seemingly easy project.... I would like to cosplay as Ophelia (link: http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20091023044522/brutallegend/images/3/39/Ophelia3.jpg ), but am having the darndest time trying to come-up with a good way to do the spikes on her wrist bands and belt. I don't want them to be hard, because I am worried about injuring myself, others, and the costume itself >_<. Any suggestions?

I just Cosplayed Eddie Riggs at Anime Detour. Her spikes strike me as similar to his - cartoonishly large. I had the same fears as you. I bought an actualy spiked wrist band, but not only was it too small, but it was also sharp as all heck. So I went for a more accurate - cartoonishly large look.
I cut spikes out of styrofoam and then covered them with aluminum tape. Highly reflective, metal looking, but yet couldn't hurt anyone. I then hot glued the spike to the fake leather fabric I was using for the wrist band.

I absent mindedly forgot to take pictures of myself - and haven't seen any around, but I threw the wrist band back on and snapped a shot.

I think you could do the same sort of thing for Ophelias spikes.
