This year I'm doing my first cosplay as Chrome Dukuro from Katekyo Hitman Reborn and obviously I need some help with the trident. I was wondering what is the best material to make the trident part out of?

I have seen it done many ways using different materials but I want to be as close to the one in the anime as possible or make it the best that I can.

So any suggestions?:)

I'd say wood and/or plastic. Looks like a bunch of cones and cylinders of varying heights, and you can often find them in arts and crafts stores like Micheal's. The cross bar is very detailed in the second pic; looks almost like flower petals. Again, I'd look for a wood or plastic piece that looks like it or similar.

Well..I'm making mine a different way. I could help but thing is I have plastic cones that I don't
think you'll be able to find where you're at.

oh yay helpful thread! I've been thinking about cosplaying that pineapple head as well 8D
umm I actully think the basic shapes from micheals is a good idea
for the staff, maybe thin PVC pipe? IDK I'm not very good with props >_<'''

I found mine from dollar tree. BUT! The thing is their ornaments. I'll be covering them with paperclay and making them to the shape of the spikes on the trident.

to me it looks like a really small version of the tridant
but I guess it'd be simple enough to up-size it... though you'd have to make up some steps as you go to make up for some you couldn't do at normal size, like with the paper and stuff

idk either one would work I think... I might have read wrong ^^

I stand by what I said earlier
you'd probably have to upscale all of it which would mean more time and money on your part =P but either way would work

using the tutorial I posted earlier I went out and bought materials for the tridant I'm making

I'm just going to go to Michael's and Walmart this weekend to check how much everything is either way I make it.
