Well, I'm planning on making samus' varia suit (http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/0/118/251735-699samus_super.gif). I'm making it out of fun foam covered with styrene plastic like the armor found here (http://amethyst-angel.com/armormaking.html). One issue I've come across is how I'm going to actually put on the costume. Like how would I make the armor stay on? So far the only idea I've come up with is putting velcro on some clothes underneath the costume and attaching the pieces with velcro. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Velcro seems about the most likely way to do it.

You have to make a full body suit with lots of Velcro but this guy who made an Iron Man outfit used something else

by the way the polystyrene plastic is tricky to use for the armor you are planning on making because it has a lot of curves.Polystyrene plastic comes in flat sheets.Use Craft foam as the base for the armour and use something else over it ie sealant .Those curves are very tricky to do.
I know a few who made pretty good looking armour with craft foam alone but with a lot of Mod Podge, paper clay/mache and more mod Podge.
Good Luck.

ya, I was starting to think I might have to use something different. Especially for the shoulders and the helmet, because those are really curvy. Thanks :)

pm Maguma, he made a round helmet from a ball.

For the rounded shoulders , you could use wonderflex and cover it with friendly plastic.Or carve a foam and hot glue them together , tape the joints and mod podge.
