My friend and I will be hitting up Yorustar 18 at Club Drop in Osaka on April 17th. It's an adult-geared club night with an 80s/90s anime nostalgia theme. There's going to be a plastic model demonstration, a parapara show and a few VJ/DJs on hand spinning nostalgic anime songs from 11pm to 5:30am.

They also have youtube ~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJEmG64Xuio

Since the bulk of participants are in their late 20s-mid-30s, most people wear costumes from older shows ~ Evangelion, Ranma, Jojo, Fushigi Yuugi, Gundam W, YYH, etc. But there are a lot of newer series costumes making a showing too ~ lots of Bleach, Vocaloid, etc. Any costume seems to be welcome.

We'll be going as Rei and Kaworu from Evangelion.

We already talked about meeting up with two cosplayers on this site at the event. So if anyone wants to join us ~ let's make a night out of it!! Dinner and kareoke might be a great way to warm up to a night of dancing :)

Let me know if you can make it!

Last call for Yorustar.

Spoke with one of the DJs who run the event briefly and he encouraged anyone who wants to check it out to stop in and enjoy, reguardless of nationality. There will be an X Japan mock-stage show, quite a few featured DJs and a plastic-model building exhibition.

You can reserve tickets on the Club Drop website (http://clubdrop.jp/club.html?ItemId=3892&y=2010&m=4&d=17&action=form) or buy them at the door.

Club Drop is in Amemura, in Osaka (near the Big Cat livehouse).

If you do plan on going: please don't wear anything bulky, elaborate, or easily-ruined (people will be drinking). Don't bring any props either (to avoid poking eyes out or thwapping people across the face). If you have luggage, you should get a coin locker near the station. Bring only what you can keep track of on your person.
