Ok, I am making a Haku (spirited away) cosplay and the white tunic thing he wears has me completely baffled! If anyone has any ideas, tutorials, advice or ANYTHING at all that might help I would really appreciate it!
Thanks in advance

Haku's clothing in Spirited Away is based on traditional Japanese clothing of the Heian period, I believe. It is largely constructed in rectangles like most traditional kimono. So the sleeves are rectangles sewn along one edge to make tubes, and the torso is two long rectangles the length from the back hem over the shoulder to the front hem, sewn together along the middle back with a hole cut in for the collar, which is just another long skinny rectangle, with the front overlapping. It was common to slit the shoulders, or just not attach them all the way.

Yeah, but I dont see how to attach the sleeves because of the slits going down the sides.

Stitch the sleeve on at the underarm, and if that isn't enough to make it stay up, you can use invisible thread or fishing line as ties around the rest of the shoulder.
