Last year was a ton of fun. I'd be down for doing it again.

Awesome, but when to have it? Or since the summer con season is on a roll, should we plan it for the early fall?

We could plan for August? That's after both Anime Next and Otakon, which are the main conventions people around here do in summer. And it's still before NYAF/NYCC.

I'd love to attend. And it would be nice if maybe it was planned after Otakon at least. I'm not sure if there are any other events in August, but if not then the fall would be good too. At least it wouldn't be as sweltering out.

Either August or September I think is more free of conventions. Granted most people I know are going to Dragon*Con which is in the middle somewhere, but for the most part, I think this time period is pretty free.

All right then. Sounds good to me.

This sounds like a lot of fun! I'd be interested in going, especially if it were after Otakon. ^^

Hey guys, I added a poll for various Saturdays through August and September. I did leave out Labor Day weekend seeing as that is Dragon*Con weekend which I know a lot of people are going to.

Also added the option for "Other", if you have any other suggestions, like a Sunday, just post about what your other option is.

Spread the word! :)

Northern NJ cosplay picnic is the 14th, so that's a bad day.

Ohh. might be able to convince Zach to come XD. Dar, keep me posted on this for whatever day it ends up being.

Since NYAF/NYCC isn't until October, I think early-mid September is a perfect time for a picnic.

So, we still doing this? Also, could I have more info about the northern NJ cosplay picnic?

The votes seem to favor September 18th -- any objections to that day? It's after Dragon*Con, and the weather should be cooperative.

That day is fine with me.

I think I might be able to go if it's that day. I'm only 30 minutes south so sounds like fun.

I might be able to make that. It depends on what my workload for classes and, well, work will be then. If I can get the day off, I'll probably go.

Cool, so it seems like we have a day, time and place. Do we need anything else? I think last year everyone just brought some sort of share-able food and that was good enough. Do we need park permits?

Oh man, this is 4 hours away from where I live. : / I would love to go for the first time but I don't think I'd be able to make it.

Oh my goodness, I haven't gotten any alerts that there were posts in this thread!

And yes, everyone should bring some food items to share.

We have never gotten park permits, but I will recheck the park rules and let you all know. But I do know that alcohol is NOT allowed in the park. (That was made evident last year.)

If people want to list what foods they plan on bringing, I will update the first post so we don't all bring the same things!

Hey guys. I remember back in 2007 when I first met you guys. Wish there was a way to hit the gathering, as I no longer have a car. >.< But if I gather right, there's a trolley that runs to Media from 69th street.

I haven't been to this event in years. I hope I can make it again. I would really want to come and see everyone. Had a blast 3 years ago. I was Kabuto Yakushi. I'll probably bring Black Star this year.

Does anyone know if the 101 stops within easy walking distance of rosetree park? I know the 101 stops in Media, but it appears there are a couple. If I go, I'll need to bum a ride to and from the nearest 101 stop if not within walking distance. ^.^ I had a blast back in 2007 when I met most of you. :)

So next saturday is the scheduled day for the Picnic, so is there still interest?

gamergirlx
09-16-2010, 11:24 AM
Well, The picnic is in 2 days, and there hasn't been any additional responses to who shall be there so I will not be attending since I would have had to move my work schedule around. But for those who do go, have fun!
