Hi!

I recently went to one of the cosplay ダンスパーテイー in Tokyo, and I was wondering if anyone could share some information on ways to learn the パラパラ moves? Can't seem to find much information online... but I was really amazed by it, and would love to learn how to do it too. Any help is appreciated!

Also, anyone who would like to go to as a group is welcomed to join! Recently, I've been doing different versions of Alto from Macross Frontier...

Thx!

Most of the popular animesong dances that pop up at club nights (at least in Osaka) originate on the やってみた channel at niconicodouga (http://www.nicovideo.jp/). Most people learn them by mirroring the moves of their favorites over and over.

As for parapara ~ it was a huge craze in the 90s, so you may be able to find and buy videos very cheaply at resale shops like BOOK OFF or pick some off of the marketplace at amazon.co.jp . Those can teach you to do the more popular dances (and give you a good basic grasp of side-stepping and pointy-handed-arm-waving ^^; ). They'll likely all be late 90s songs, though since the craze died off almost completely not long after it began.

The more recent niconico dances may have parapara elements ~ but they're usually not directly linked to parapara. Japanese people just like crazy arm-waving :)

The most visable modern parapara dancer I can think of would have to be おっさん ~ http://www.nicovideo.jp/search/%E3%83%91%E3%83%A9%E3%83%91%E3%83%A9%20%E3%81%8A%E 3%81%A3%E3%81%95%E3%82%93

He may give you some inspiration (or just help you figure out if what you want to learn is parapara or just anime-song dances).

As for doing a group ~ Is there anything in the dance-party realm going down the week of Comiket?
