So my friend is planning on cosplaying Kaibi this year, and since her Birthday is in a few weeks I thought I would get her one of those Yu-Gi-Oh duel disks from the original series.

I've spent the morning surfing the web and have had problems finding any that are within a reasonable price range. I don't mind if it's used as long as it is in good condition, but even that is proving dificult to find. =/

I've seen tons of Kaiba's on here with duel disks, so it makes me wonder if there's a store or something that sells them for a decent price that I just don't know about.

If I can't find one I think I might try to make it, but I honestly have no idea where to even start, so any tutorials or tips would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

I got mine when i was a kid and they sold them in stores, i have all three that they made. Im guessing thats where most people got theres from, You should ask around and maby someone you know still has one you can borrow, since there no longer in production there a little pricey.

Most of us bought our duel disks years ago. Back when they were everywhere and discounted to fly off the shelves.

I would honestly suck it up and buy one at whatever inflated price you can find it at (barring eBay or a random garage sale) because the making of a duel disk that looks as good as the plastic toy will probably cost you more than the toy itself. In materials and the tools required to cut, assemble, sand, and finish a quality prop.

Darn that's what I was thinking.... my friend actually had one of her own until a few years ago when her brother sold it at a garage sale for $1 without telling her. She was not pleased.

I'll just ask around and keep an eye out on ebay/craigs list for a decently priced one.

Ouch that sucks. My brother got out of anime and gave me his duel disc because I told him not to throw it out..though I don't know where it is at the moment. I think in the garage in a bin..

My best suggestions: try thrift stores or friends who have them (who don't want them any more). They are hard to come by, especially now with the newer YGO series' versions. Though, thrift stores is like finding a needle in the haystack type deal. You just never know what you may find there. Goodluck!

I've made my own before. And I can assure you it didn't cost me anymore than 20-30 bucks. I don't have any pictures of it yet, but if you'd like I could take some real quick and post a link.

Pics would be awesome! And a tutorial if it wouldn't be too much trouble please? I don't have a duel disk for Jaeger, and even if I did, I don't think I'd want to give it the black and gold custom paint job. So I've been looking all over for good duel disk tutorials.
