The above picture is the costume I'm planning, but having received one too many eyefuls of gut and crotch bulges, I have no desire to inflict that on anyone else.
I plan on working out until next years convention, but I have some fat that's never quite gone away. does anyone have tips on how to keep anything from...er...poking out?

You could invest in some kind of underliners for unitards. River's Edge Dancewear suggested I buy one of their...thong-back dance belts that covers crotch bulge(as much as possible) and reduces the visibility of lines. Hope it helps.

Dance belts and athletic compression shorts are the two common methods for avoiding crotch bulges. I've heard of men's spanx compression shirts for gut bulges.

Read my sticky please! (http://www.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=213835):D I'm in the same boat. I Also finished writing up the basic workout program so take advantage of that too. :D
When you do loose the weight and dawn a six pack look for bikini glue so you can have it cling to parts of your body you worked on. Posture always helps too.

It occurs to me that adding interfacing and lining in certain parts could help a great deal.
I've never made a bodysuit though, I'm just contemplating making one.

>_> Athletic lower wear should help with the crotch bulgies.
I had the same...exact problem when I dressed as a character from a comic called Starfighter, tight black leather jumpsuit....nooooooot very un-embarassing.
also, wearing a cup might...HELP a tiny bit...maybe.
