I know this has probably been asked a million times before, but I would like to know if there was any place where I can buy a Japanese School Uniform for cheap(or reasonable priced)? I have tried Bodyline.co.jp, but the shipping kills me! Thank you so much! ^^

If Bodyline is rich for your blood ~ you're probably better off learning to alter/make your own from thrift and reform items ^^;;; Bodyline is about as cheap as useable costumes and specialty clothing comes. Pretty much all of the other cheap costume makers are located in China and charge a bit extra on top of actual international shipping fees (for shipping comparable to Body Line's).

Keep an eye on the marketplace for used costumes in your country if you want to save on shipping... but you should probably be aware that buying even very low-quality and basic used costumes may cost just shy of a hundred dollars for a complete set. Even Legs Avenue is charging $40 for their satin halloween costumes in bags these days.

Go to goodwill with a picture of what you're looking for and see if there are any skirts, shirts, cardigans, etc. that can be made to work. You may need to add a ribbon or make a home-made school badge... but it may be the only option in your price range.

Yeh bodyline are good on product pricing, but I don't like how the shipping cost is a fixed US $20 for everything. Even if buying just a pair of ear rings or something just as small.

I gather your after a school girl uniform? I'd say just have it commisioned or keep an eye on the market place as well as the above with thrift shops.

Assuming it isn't a book, a document or unsewn fabric - the lowest weight bracket from Japan to the US for airmail is 1,800 yen (about US $20). EMS is cheaper (1,200 yen for the smallest weight bracket) and faster but requires more paperwork and quickly rises to pass regular airmail if a package goes over 2 kilos. Businesses tend to avoid it for that reason.

When you pay international shipping, you're essentially buying a plane ticket for your package.

Sammie, sweetheart, I have to agree with everyone here, Bodyline will be the cheapest for full school uniforms.
BUT, what you can do is save up the money for a Seifuku top off of Yesstyle(like this one: here. C: (http://www.yesstyle.com/en/sechuna-sailor-collar-striped-top-black-one-size/info.html/pid.1020418228)), then buy a school skirt(like Lands End) from Sears, JCPenny, Dillards, and pretty much any department store.

If you're more into "alterations," I would go look at GoodWill and Bargain stores. As some people who have out grown their school girl uniform might have donated it to those places. Just go look around for the right skirt and shirt. And you'll have your uniform in no time. As others have said - bodyline is probably the cheapest (some are super cheap).

There's a lot more - so take a look at Cosmates' website. I just listed a few to let you see some of their variety. =)

If you don't hav too much money, cosplayfu.com makes nice quality costumes at a discount and with free shipping. It'll still be a costume but they've got a variety of different looks.

Be careful to order stuff a size bigger cause it's in japanese sizing which is Us one size smaller.

I believe its more than 1 size smaller. Typically an XS in US sizing is slightly big on my rib cage/stomach but I fit a Japanese Medium perfectly.

Bodyline sometimes offers free shipping but even if you have to pay shipping $20 isn't bad for EMS which takes only 5 days to ship to North America. [xD it takes me longer to get a package from south of the boreder [[Us]] than it does all the way across the world.

I think before you buy any Japanese uniforms , you should know some basic information about it, like history, patterns, accessories, fabrics etc. I made a series recently, hope you can get some ideas:

[LIST]
History of japanese school uniforms -http://tinyurl.com/3m75ng6
Current situation of Japanese school uniforms - http://tinyurl.com/3ho9lsc
Patterns and accessories - http://tinyurl.com/3zbq7kt

But people should remember ,authentic Japanese uniforms in japan are really expensive ,price around $100-300 us dollors. But if you are buy uniforms for cosplay, you just need to choose the cheaper ones, but the fabrics is different really!
