I'm in the process of making a Cassandra costume for Otakon this year. (Here's a few (http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/soulcaliburiv/images/0/305/) reference (http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/soulcaliburiv/images/0/308/) pics (http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/soulcaliburiv/images/0/313/?tag=thumbs_below;thumb;313) for those of you who don't know exactly what she looks like.)

A few things I need help on:

- I am terrible at picking out fabric choices. What sort of fabric do you guys think I should use for the indigo colored jacket and/or the collar/cravat... thing? I was thinking maybe a satin, or something shiny?
- Those boots!!! WHERE CAN I FIND THIGH HIGH FLAT HEELED BOOTS?!?! I've looked EVERYWHERE. If no one has any ideas, can someone link an easy tutorial for making boot covers? I'm a TOTAL beginner seamstress, so the simpler, the better.

Any help is INCREDIBLY appreciated!!! Thanks guys!! :D

Yeaah...I would suggest boot covers hehe...I can't help you there, but hopefully somebody can.

As for the fabric, I would use a low-sheen satin, usually called "Duchesse Satin" or "Lamour Satin"; most specifically "Casa Satin" from Joann Fabric has a lovely drape, medium weight, and low, but subtle sheen. It is also usually available on sale for 40-50% off either with a coupon or just during a sale. It also comes in a good selection of colors.

Not to discourage you, but for a beginner seamstress this is an incredibly ambitious project because it is so unique. You are going to have to draft your own or extremely alter a pattern. Good luck!
