View Full Version : Assassin's Creed Insignia Help

I'm making an Assassin's Creed 2 costume for a con and am currently working on the belt insignia portion first to get that out of the way.

I made one already out of Sculpey, but was silly and just made the pieces separately, so the whole back support is lacking, so I'm making another one. I also live in a small apartment with little air flow, so using chemical mixes for some techniques may not be possible for me to do.

My question is what do you guys suggest as a material that I use for the insignia? Its very detailed, with etchings and layers. But at the same time, its also at a location that is very movement heavy, so I want to make sure its secure and won't break at all (since its on the belly). Is polymer clay a good option to use, or would another material be better for the detail and strength?

Hm. Maybe use tinfoil inside of the Sculpey so even if it does snap, it'll hold together? Or perhaps foam would be a better bet (like the big foam balls/cones you can get at craft stores). You could carve it and then paint/lacquer it to make it shiny.
