Hey all,

I just joined a a Crossfit program here in Santa Clara, CA.

Oh man, it's really kicking my butt, in a good way.

The programs are varied and different every time so it doesn't get boring. And I leave every week with a different part of my body being sore. LOL

It is pricey, but I like it so far.

And also, where else can you throw around a tractor tire and call it a workout!

I know what you mean, I'm currently doing a fitness bootcamp at 5:30 am. Mine is actually dirt cheap tho. 45$ for 6 weeks. Extremely similar to Crossfit.

My brother does Crossfit and karate at his dojo, he loves it :) (and as really trimmed up because of it)

I;m really enjoying the crossfit I'm doing currently. Sadly, most of the stuff I do I get from an online forum then perform at my local gym (to the many stares of the other people working out haha). The is a actually Crossfit Center here though, but its about 120 a month, which is just a bit to steep for me when I already have the equipment on hand haha.

so many handstand pictures, is that your goal to handstand. yeah that looks like a well rounded program to keep people motivated but i think throwing an tractor tire is a good way to throw your back unless your an beast ^_^.

The key to throwing the tire and not your back is sucking in your stomach while you do it.

Throwing the tire Is awesome, But I prefer to go at them with sledge Hammers myself. Very theraputic and great for the shoulders and back!

Woah thread rez.

Anyway, just thought I'd throw in an update. Since I've started, I've lost about 3" from my waist.

I've gone from a 31" jeans to 28" jeans. Mostly I still wear 29" jeans for comfort, but I can get into 28" (skinny) jeans with no problem, they are just really hard to find in that size and in the style I want. But there's no point in inflicting that sight on the public, no skinny jeans for me. LOL

This was just going to Crossfit up to 4 times a week and no special diet.

Since the new year, I've been doing the slow-carb diet (http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/blog/2007/04/06/how-to-lose-20-lbs-of-fat-in-30-days-without-doing-any-exercise/) not to lose anymore weight, but to tone up and change my eating habits for the better.

And come on the one cheat day a week is freakin' awesome! :>

Can't wait to do Gatchaman and Tron costumes now! Come on skin-tight body suits, BRING IT ON! ;-D

Gatchaman!!! Oddly enough the same guy that introduced me to Gatchaman also does crossfit. He swears by it. That and the paleofit diet. He also does MMA and he's in ridiculously good shape, so I'd say it works for him.

I unfortunately don't have the time or funds available to do crossfit 3 or 4 times a week. Keeping a diet is hard enough.
