View Full Version : Shinigami uniform: To curve or not to curve?

I am planning on sewing a shinigami uniform from scratch.

According to this excellent guide on sewing a kosode (http://www.wodefordhall.com/kosode.htm), the bottom corners of the sleeves are apparently curved. This guide is also based on clothing from before the 17th century, however, and I think the shinigami are supposed to live as if it is the Edo period, which is later. I'm not sure if the corners of the sleeves are curved or not.

So should I, or should I not curve the corners of the sleeves?

What I've seen on the pictures in the manga the sleeves are not curved. (I think it's possible to see that in the 4:th book where Don Kan'Onji and Ichigo fight against that one hollow and Ichigo's sword gets stuck in the roof...)

Oh good! Makes the work a little easier for me.

I agree with BloodSword, as the black top is open at the armits showing the white top underneath, so curving it would be impractical.
