I need some advice for a Hobbes (from Calvin and Hobbes) costume...see, I don't want to come across as a NORMAL tiger. So I was thinking of adding REALLY thick stitches so it looks like a doll. And maybe a red scarf, since I think thats what he wears in the Yukon, Ho! book.

Any other ideas, or like where to get a good tiger costume?

That looks like a lot of work; your friend is quite talented!

The scarf and stitches sound like a very cute idea to me, and if it's the look you want, I think you should go for it! :D

For the simulated stitching, go to the craft store, (Micheals, Hobby Lobby, etc.) and get a soft-sculpture needle, aka a doll makers needle. They are usually about three inches long, and have a huge eye. Then, take some black yarn, and sew large stitches through the existing costume in the appropriate places, (i.e., over the existing seams), just like you were really sewing it together in the first place. That should give you the hand-sewn look you want.

I've seen this done, and it works really well. Hope this helps!
