I'm wanting to be Rumpleteazer from the musical "Cats" for Halloween, but I have no idea where to start on making my costume. Further more, I live out in the middle of nowhere and have extremely little chance of getting any professional brands of anything. Here's what I need:
A) Techniques for making the various accessories, namely the tail.
B) Links to good Cats costuming websites that have tutorials and forums on such things.
C) Cheap drugstore brands that will work for my costume, particularly in makeup and yarn. Also a little skeptic on how to acquire a unitard or something that will serve the same purposes.

Please help!

A) the original tails were made from yarn. Cutting short bits and tying them around a ribbon, rope, or fabric base should work just fine.

This is pretty nice for references;

Your best bet for getting a unitard is going to be ordering online unless you have a well stocked local dance store. http://www.discountdance.com/frame_set.php3?mf=http://www.discountdance.com/dancewear/halloween/Page1?SortOrder=N is what you should be looking for. Starting with white would probably be easiest. Its easier to paint dark over light then light over dark.
