El Paso has lots of different types of areas for pics such as Mountains, Parks, Desert, and during winter these places become a whole new photo shoot area. If your looking for something more old western and such there are the museams all around that have the simulated types of areas. On Fort Bliss they have a small simulated area with fake horses and buildings.

So different places i know of so far that are truely nice and less populated on certain days are.

Transmountain-of course mountain life, dirt, rocks
any empty desert area on the North East-rather large, many different things to work with if you really look.
Memorial Park in central.-almost nothing but grass, trees, hills, and squirrels :3
The Mountains in Central.

these places personally are my favorite.

XD meh El Paso is hard to work with though the climate is so odd for the location, you can look outside, it will be nice and warm and when you step out its freezing and windy TT.TT

Haha, my family lives in El Paso. It's about an eight hour drive, and we plan on heading over there this spring break.

Hmm most of the high schools are really good since they are all different styls...Austin High has a churchy look to it. Parkland's campus inside the gates looks kind of castle groundsish. Andress's if you have the right settings on your camera or the settings in photoshop can look abandoned on the stairs. The old Furrs near North Gate bus Terminal is actaully abandoned and looks like an old run down castle if angled right. Before i move i'll try and get pics if possible :D
