Okay, so I've hit a little snag with this umbrella.
At first I wanted to have it comissioned, but the prices were just too crazy and the one person I found who would only charge the price of materials and shipping, could not find the size of the umbrella I wanted for a reasonable price, so I got stuck with this big project!

XD

I've already purchased the umbrella, materials and everything else needed to do this and have already made the red and black covers but cannot figure out how to attach the head so that I'll be able to close it! I have a bag of cotton stuffing but am wondering if perhaps that was a wrong move.
The material I've purchsed is a thick duck cavas material so I'm not too worried about tears occuring.

I'd also like to get a big rounded head but sewing just two pieces of material together might make it seem flat. (Sorry if this is getting confusing! )

Has anyone actually made this before or can give me some tips before I return to my sewing machine?

Here are some photos of the black cover I just finished.

A source pic of the umbrella would be most helpful now.
Can you find a plushie pattern online that has a similar head shape?

Another fellow Rachel cosplayer here ^^

I have pretty much almost completed Rachel's costume but still yet to make Nago and Gii and since I have no experince in making plushies, I hope my first attempt will turn out okay.

One of the things I dread about making Nago is how I can make the plushie detachable from the umberella without it looking too obvious that it's meant to detach? I cannot possibly carry the opened umberella to a con especially on the plane or train 0.o

If anyone has any tips or advice, it would be great. Thanks in advance.

Omg! I didn't know other people commented!! XD
I made a tutorial or well.. sorta, on how I did mine! If you're having trouble with the Gii plush, Snow, I can help with that!

There is my link on youtube! I explained how I made it! If you get confused or need any additional help, I do not mine giving whatever I can offer!

Also, I did not glue the panels together, whitebeast. You just take the two pieces and sew them together almost like a pillow case, leaving a big gap to pull it through so that you only have the nice side without the extra fabric showing. It also helps to leave the gap there so when you sew the cat head, and paw to the fabric, you can sew it only to the black and not the red under so there are no black strings everywhere!
