I'm currently working on doing Tsubaki (from Soul Eater) and the boots have me stumped. I haven't been able to find any boots that would work and I'm not sure how to make boots/boot covers or even what type of shoes to use with said boot covers... I'd like to be able to use the costume for halloween this year and so I'm kinda in a pinch... :blubber:
From what I can tell her boots are about mid-calf in height, slightly loose but not droopy, flat low platforms (although are sometimes shown with a very slight heel (1 inch at most), not shiny, and white (with blue stripes on the toe - planning to add these with strips of pale blue vinyl and glue).
I also have about 3/4 yard of white vinyl that could be used (unless I go and get more).
Anyway, any suggestions?

Here are some reference pictures for what I'm trying to make:

Covering or painting a pair of rainboots I think would work well for tsubaki.

Repainting rainboots in http://www.dmcolor.com/products/ floral spray paint sold at Micheals, FUSION or possibly H2O™ Latex by Krylon.

Thank you. I think I'll give the rainboots idea a try. I found a pair yesterday with a good enough shape and height. The only problem (I think) is that they're dark blue. Is that going to be hard to paint over
