I am planning on cosplaying as Cable (http://www.uncannyxmen.net/db/spotlight/showquestion.asp?faq=10&fldAuto=64) for 2011. As can see by the link, his left arm is cybernetic. I have found some fabric that is silver and has some stretch to it. However what I am looking for a sewing pattern for a Opera Length Slip-on Gloves. And even there, I am going to be adding more to the length.

I have found a rather good link for the hand part of this clove.

However I am after some tips on the sleeves. Obviously a sleeve will be a straight tube. But what key parts parts of my arms should I be measuring while making my pattern.

You can make this really easy - measure wrist and biceps.

Or really hard - measuring multiple points and NOT making it a "tube" for optimum undistorted fit. Personally, I'd be thinking about overlapping a bunch of strips or some kind of piping or something. Were you thinking of painting it ?

Thank you.

No. I was down in the fabric shop looking in the wrong section for some thing else, and found this fabric that is silver. So no need to paint.
However I will be needing to sew horizontal black lines across this silver fabric before I get started cutting fabric out on the pattern.
