So, we all have goals we want to obtain before we go out and cosplay. For some its slimming down, and for some its bulking up. Goals are important. So, here we can tell eachother what our goals are before our next cosplay. My goal=I have to slim down a bit.

I would LOVE to drop about 60 lbs by August. 40 is actually my goal, if I had to pick numbers. Mainly, just dropping any weight and trimming up is what I'm after.

Somewhere between 60 and 80 pounds by April. I've never been skinny so I don't know what will look best on me. D8

I want to build more muscle... But I don't know where exactly the point I know I've reached that 'goal' will be. I think maybe for now I'll set a small goal of just consistently working out three days a week for 3 months.
Does that sound good? I'm new to... fitness D:

as long as those 3 days are every other day and resistance based you should be fine. On the other days you want to do light cardio. :bigtu:

Im going to present a weight loss presentation at anime north. So if you dont reach your goal completely We can talk one on one there. :) but in the meantime just follow what us already on the thread directory.

My goal is to lose about 40-50 pounds and to tone up thereafter. I'd like to meet this by Megacon 2011 or by Metrocon/AWA 2011.

My goal is to gain about 15 pounds of lean muscle, hopefully by the end of the year. I'm want to be a solid 180lbs(currently 165lbs @ 5'11"). I know I have to eat a lot more than I do and I'm already hitting the gym and lifting heavy. I think it's my nutrition that is lacking is the reason I'm not putting any weight on.

I want to drop 20 pounds by February! I've been drinking water, do Wii fit plus, and eat less portions of food.

I'm 5'11", and when I started working out on a semi-regular basis in mid-June, I weighed 239 lbs with about 39-40% body fat (both measured with an electronic scale). My goals are as follows:

-200 lbs or less by the end of the year
-Under 180 lbs by Anime Detour (beginning of April 2011)

After weighing myself today, I'm currently sitting at 209.4 lbs with 29% body fat. Most of the weight I've lost so far started melting off after I used some advice and tips posted in the other threads with a heavy dose of discipline. So, my thanks go out to everyone here-- you guys are awesome! :bigtu:

I'm 5'8" and about 160 right now. I spent the summer losing 15 pounds that snuck up on me the last few weeks of my sophomore year at college. I worked out every day over the summer and ate very little--which is why I think I'm stuck now that I'm back at school. I need to get back on dieting and working out...

Anyways, my goal is to lose 5 pounds before Thanksgiving, 5-10 more pounds before Christmas break, and then try and maintain that/drop down 5 more pounds through Christmas break and maintain that through the spring conventions. And then use the summer to get lean and build more muscle. I've been 140 before so I think I can do it again--it'll be hard work though. Unrealistic? Anyone have any suggestions?

Five pounds in about three weeks seems fairly realistic, but its best to remember not to rush. Far too often people push themselves way way way too hard to drop a ton of weight and just completely rebound when they finish their "diet". The problem with dropping weight too quickly is that you lose muscle mass, which lowers your metabolism, and when you regain the weight its at an even higher body fat percentage despite being the same number on the scale.

Regardless, 5 pounds by Thanksgiving, and another 5 by Christmas can be completely reasonable. Just stay dedicated, focused and stick to it. Progress is the name of the game. Even if you don't see the numbers that you are hoping for but you see some great changes in the mirror and with measurements, thats what really counts.



And on a different note, I wonder if I spotted you at MangaNext this past weekend, hmm.


As far as goals for myself, I'm working on cutting a few unnecessary pounds, trying to lean out a bit more. I want to see my lower abs ; )

my goal is to lose like 40-50 pounds before AX next year. I really wanna do witchblade. Right now I am 5'4 and 170. I am hoping to lose 20 pounds before the end of the year.

I don't have a reliable scale. So I want to be a size 8 in Levi jeans (my favorite brand), by Feb. of next year. :)

I'd like to drop down to about 140-145lbs by February. I'm 153 right now, but it's slow going because I do a lot of weight/resistance training. My weight likes to stay the same for weeks. :|

Another goal is to get 50+ pushups in under two minutes (I'm at about 25-30 right now), 5-10 pullups by the end of next summer (I can barely do one), and get my two-mile run time down to somewhere in the 15:00-16:00 range (I don't even know what my time is. I just know it isn't even close). I don't want to be put in the slow group at BCT. ;_;

My goal was to lose 18lbs, once I started hitting the gym I lost 8lbs.
Now I need to lose that and tone up a bit. I really want to get back into the shape I was in when I played soccer except toned and some abs this time. xD

Right now I'm 230lbs and I hope to be 150 by July. It shouldn't be too hard as long as I stick to exercise and eating right...but my very thin sister likes junk food and keeps it around the house so I don't have much support. I am also hoping that some of the weight will drop from my chest because I like to crosplay and bonding isn't easy with larger busts.

you need more lats more than anything if you wanna be like Jin :P that's also going to be atleast 60 pounds of lean body mass your going to need to become like Jin good luck :p

Just don't go the route of pro-hormones / steroids, also make sure you take joint support to help you through staying injury free =)

It's definitely possible, my friend was 120 pounds less than 2 years ago.

big lats will make your front look wider too, lats and shoulders will make you look big, a big back and shoulders you can notice even through a dress shirt =)

No specific number goal. I'd love to drop a pants size or two (or more!) Really, my main goal is to actually stick with an exercise routine for more than a few weeks. Maybe, 15 pounds by the end of the year?
