View Full Version : Team Fortress Medic - What wig should I use?

Warning, rant ahead.

So, I want to cosplay Medic (http://czero.i906.com.my/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/72f06def-herr_doktor.jpg). Im doing the original (male) version. Wich means short hair. REALLY short hair.

Problem is, I'm a girl. Last time I cut my hair 2 inches to short my mom freaked. And I don't think I would be OK walking around with a 1 inch long hair.

I've tried looking for male wigs on ebay. Problem is, all I've found have been poorly made wigs. (The kind you can get at your local costume store for 3 dollars)

So, I guess Im going with a longer, more out of character wig, unless I can find a short one. Next problem. Either the longer wigs are "animu" (http://cdn1.ioffer.com/img/item/158/250/916/k0Zl.jpg), meaning theyre styled with spikes, ruffles, all that weeabo stuff... Or they're female wigs.

After hours of searching Im sortof at a loss.

Anyone have any idea of where to find short male wigs, or longer, less styled wigs?
Like this? (http://www.sxc.hu/pic/m/p/pa/payblake/1149182_black_and_white.jpg)

And if not, would people facepalm at my fail if I choose a bit longer (http://cdn1.ioffer.com/img/item/119/551/217/Eu2t.jpg), more unmanly wig?

Sorry for the rant and the occasional spelling errors, english aint my first language. I'd be very grateful for any help. :)

I was thinking off the bat, if you wanted to use your own hair, you could just slick it back really tight against your head (maybe get trim that makes this easier to do) and have the rest in a low-set pony tail, also kept tight.

oh yeah, you could also just wear one of the millions of hats they have in the game ;)

@ beema :

That is genious. Now then.

Where do I find an Acient Prussian Pickelhaube that doesnt cost more than 50 dollars and that is in good condition.

... Buuuut a Vingate Tyrolean could work! A nice suggestion, indeed. : )

@ Hynoxolus :
That seems like a very nice alternative for a hat. Ill be sure to keep that in mind : )

Thanks to the both of you!

I can offer you tips on the Vintage Tyrolean if you go that road. I also saw someone on deviant art make a quite nice pickelhaube. He even listed the materials he used to do it, so it could be just what you're looking for. Link to it is here: http://bluehentrooper.deviantart.com/favourites/3771823?offset=48#/drvnqd
